Snicker, snicker. :D

Will I live to be 80?

Recently I turned 65 and had to choose a new primary care physician for my age. After two visits and exhaustive lab tests, he said I was doing 'fairly well' For my age.

A little concerned about that comment, I couldn't resist asking him, "Do you think I will live to be 80?"

He asked: "Do you smoke tobacco or drink alcoholic beverages?"

"Oh no," I replied. "I don't do drugs, either."

"Do you have many friends and entertain frequently?"
I said, "No, I usually stay home and keep to myself"

"Do you eat rib-eye steaks and barbecued ribs?"
I said, "No, my other doctor said that all red meat is unhealthy!"

"Do you spend a lot of time in the sun, like playing golf, tennis, sailing, hiking or bicycling?" "No, I don't," I said.

"Do you gamble, drive fast cars, or have a lot of sex?"

"No," I said. "I don't do any of those things."

He looked at me and said, "Then why do you give a ****?"

Reminds me of neighbors I had some years ago. Three sisters -- in their 80's. I was chatting with them in their kitchen one day. There was a plate with liver   to be cooked for dinner. Somehow we started talking about it.

They told me how much they loved liver (again...  ) but they didn't eat it very often. Too much cholesterol.

I vowed then and there...when I am 80 I will eat whatever I want. :D :D

Mama ate what she wanted and her cholesterol was over 350 the last several years of her life. She smoked and dranked, ate fried foods, junk and all that stuff, never had any kind of heart disease when she died at 81 of colon cancer.... 5 years after her oldest son died, he was the one who took care of himself, never smoked, never drank , watched what he ate and lived the healthiest life he could... then died of colon cancer at the age of 55.

You can help yourself a lot, but so much depends on your draw in the genetic lottery! But I think if you make it to a certain age, I agree with the doctor in the joke! :D

I like it!!!

I'm all for being sensible but if you cut out all the fun things in life you might as well be dead anyway! ;)
