The chicken egg

I haven't ever really tried to get my chickens to lay eggs. I just like them as snuggly pets. I had a very unfortinate accident the other day. Gracie some how clawed THROUGH the chicken pen and killed all my feathered babies. I was devistated. :( I got to thinking that I needed a much better "dog proof" pen for my replacement chicks in March so I went out to the chicken pen to check measurements. Low and behold in a dark corner was a big brown egg!!! :eek: My chickens had never layed before, but as upsetting as loseing all my chickens at once was finding that brown egg somehow made it better. I had to take a pic of me and my egg!
