Aw, thanks for the comments, guys!

Buttercup - Is it cold? Yes and no. lol Our winter's been pretty mild this year. We never have much snowfall but the wind is cold and will cut right to the bone. I *think* it was in the high 40s/low 50s yesterday -- not including the windchill factor. So, much warmer than where you are, but pretty cold for us desert-dwellers! :p

Summer's had a hint of a winter coat since I got her (September). She came from a part of the state that's higher in elevation and sees MUCH more snowfall than we do.

I'm not sure. I gave her a boredom buster toy for her stall - it was a plastic appley thing with a treat in the middle. She wouldn't touch it. Sniffed it once and that was it. So, I ended up giving it to a little filly. (She doesn't care for the treat either but likes to chew/shred the rope it hangs from. I think they've gone thru 3 ropes already! lol)

"Santa" had plans of getting her a jolly ball but the apple incident left us undecided as to whether or not she'd actually use it.

I should've just got her a coat as, everytime I wear mine, she plays with the hood. If she doesn't have her nose in it, she's trying to put it on my head! lol :D

Summer's a 4yr old registered paint. She is a great-great grandhorse of Zippo Pine Bar (sire's side) and A Summer Breeze (dam's side).

I have taken a couple of tumbles; she's young, she's green, but overall she's a good, good horse. The first tumble was her just "being a jerk," the second was a spook I should've seen coming. :rolleyes: But, more often than not, we have a decent ride. And today's ride was absolutely PERFECT! I couldn't have asked for a better mount.

I'll have a trainer finish her this spring -- nothing fancy, just a nice quiet trail buddy. :) I'm really excited to start having more days like today.

I remember well the joys of riding a green horse in my younger days, now I stick to well seasoned and well behaved horses when I ride. It's good to hear that you do have some good days riding her. I look forward to seeing some new photos of you riding her when you have the time. :)

That PINK collar/bridle (?) looks so nice on you, it brings out those fabulous natural creme and dark chocolate highlights. You are sooooo pretty! That winter coat looks so warm and plush, fur suits you, my love!
