Dear friends of rescue,
Above I have the link for the Shelby County Kentucky shelter. In the last 3 weeks S.A.F.E. Sanctuary (10?), K9Kindness (3), and Paws and Claws (1) have taken 14 dogs out of the shelter. I am begging you to look over these precious babies again and see if you can find room for any of them. I am trying to expand the number of rescues we are working with and I am transport coordinating for, so that’s the reason for the extensive email. I know some of you are not rescues, but, I know you forward, so please do so if you are willing. Also, rescues, if you would please forward this email to any other reputable rescues, it would be most appreciated. Posting on the yahoo, msn, or google groups as well as pet sites will be fine as well and we can verify from there Below are the most urgent at the shelter. All of them need help, but, these babies are reaching their ends because of the stress level at the shelter. They deserve a warm bed to sleep in every night! Perhaps if you like puppies, you could take one of the adorable little ones on the site and then take one of the harder to place (like Frost and Sounder and Snowflake) as well. I will be forever indebted to anyone who can take any of these babies.
James is VERY easy to work with. He takes the animals to the vet for their vetting without an argument and obviously deeply cares for them. All that is required to rescue is for you to pay for the shots necessary for transport, your 501c3 number, your name, the rescue name, rescue’s address, rescue’s phone, and rescue’s email. Once you give that to him, it goes in a file and it’s a one time deal. To pay for shots, you just have to call the vet with your credit/debit card and they do everything right away. Patty from S.A.F.E. says they are really nice!
***THESE ARE THE MOST URGENT BABIES AT THE SHELTER!!!!!! ***
I am down on my knees groveling for Frost. His life is on the line here. He is getting antsy in the shelter and is losing weight. If I could take him to my house I would, but, I am in a state of flux with my life right now, so I can’t. I just can’t bear for him to die because he’s a Walker hound. James promises he’s a good boy. Here’s his individual link: http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=9861984 He has now been at the shelter longer than anyone else—December 5. PLEASE give him a chance.
Snowflake is the next longest resident and he’s being looked over because of his breed as well. He’s just a puppy!!!! He’s a cutie pie and like most pitties is just sweet as can be and playful! Here’s his individual link: http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=9898432.
Sounder is another “pet project” of mine because he is a hound and no one wants the hounds. I don’t understand that at all. I have 3 hounds (2 are with Mike, but, I still count them) and they are the most loving, most wonderful dogs around. Sounder needs a nice place to go as well. James says he is a very nice dog as well. Please read his heartbreaking story here: http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=9898458.
Lyla is another urgent baby. She is not doing well in the shelter environment either…just like Frost. Please consider her even though she’s black…I know the black dogs are hard to place. Give her a chance if you can. http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=9937378.
