Hi folks,

Yesterday after walking Bodea in the park and in the off leash area, she got some burrs in her fur. I got out the ones I could see, she is very patient with me.

This morning I noticed her biting at the skin at the top of her hind leg and she had pulled off two burrs. She kept biting at it, so I cleaned the area, trimmed some hair and applied some over the counter hydrocortisone cream.

The area was reddish, but no skin broken and I can't tell if there's still a bit of a burr underneath the skin.

She is resting now and not biting at it. Should I get her to the vets?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

I think I'd wait just a few days & keep watching your dog to see
if she's still bothered by the spot. The cream was a good idea.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye on it. She has been worrying at it a bit today, but I'll try to keep her from biting it. More cream, I guess.

That cream is antiitch and should be OK, unless she is really working the area and licks up the cream.

Also, if you have any Bag Balm, that may help the area feel better as well.

Just watch it for a few days, I agree with that as well.

Don't you love how a simple walk can turn into a 4 day worry? It should be OK.
