My poor girls!!! Midnight is still 4 hours away, but the fireworks outside already begin- horror for the girls!! I bought Bachflower rescue remedies to help them through these difficult hours, but as the banging outside is getting louder, they start panicking. Oh, my kitties hate New Year's, and all I can do is staying with them and keeping the windows closed!! Think I'm going to turn on the tv now, it may distract them from the noise outside.

Some damn fool set off firecrackers early this morning (7 AM New Years eve). Mine have plenty of hidey-holes to hide in, but I hate seeing them frightened.

THATS NOT A COMMON OCCURENCE NOW, BUT ON VICTORIA DAY , THE YAHOOS WHO WHINE THAT THEY ARE ALWAYS BROKEWILL BUY HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS IN FIRE WORKS AND THROW THIER MONEY AWAY.
THE THING THAT BOTHERS ME IS THAT THEY THRW THEM AT MY PORCHIES AND SCARE THEM AWAY.
LAT YEAR I FOUND ALL SORTS OF EXPLODED FIREWORKS ON MY LAWN WHERE THESE IDIOTS TOSSED THEM, AND LEFT THEM FOR ME TO CLEAN UP.
I REMEMBER ORANGE BLOSSOM HIDING ON MY PORCH WITH ONE OF HIS EARS BURNED FROM THAT NONSENSE.
I DONT MIND PEOPLE CELEBRATING, BUT I HATE BULLIES.

Well, the worst is over here meanwhile, but the girls barely slept last night. Lily was coping better with the noise, she was a brave girl, even jumped onto the window sill and watched the firecrackers outside, but Luna was hiding for many hours. She came out of her hiding place early in the morning, and she was too confused and too scared to eat her breakfast. Now she's sleeping on the top of the cabinet, totally exhauded. Poor girl! Lily is also very tired today.

When they started the banging here (we are in a village so there isn't too much) Filou went quietly and dignified down from the heating and under the bed. But when they stopped he was back again :)
The city of Paris has banned all private fireworks from this year on. Isn't that great?
