How sweet is that face! How adorable with her little ruff! Idgie has catitude by the bucketload.
Of course, an intelligent girl like Idgie would know right away the source of the laser red dot! I mean, fancy expecting her to chase a moving image on the wall when she can catch the real thing!
I'd love to see more photos of her showing of her complete ruff wardrobe. What a charmer, and how right it is that she is so adored.

She has two washcloths that she drags around the house, screaming and howling, and leaves in significant places, like near the front door when we are away, or by the pantry closet where her food is kept. We call them her babies: Green Baby and Blue Baby. When I occasionally have to wash them, she will wait by the dryer until they come out fresh and clean.

Idgie does the things expected of a tortishell cat. They classically have what is called attitude or "tortitude" which to some make them unacceptable and to the rest of us tortie lovers very endearing. You either accept a tortie on it's terms and time or not at all. If you can live with it, you've got yourself a great cat. I miss mine a great deal. One of these days when my flock thins down, I might adopt a tortie. I love cats with attitude and personality so torties and Siamese rank high on my love list. Great cat. Congrats on having her in your family.

What is a ruff and where do you get them?

First, thanks to everyone who wrote in with compliments and worship for Idgie! She is quite gratified, and sends snudges to all her new acolytes. ;)

For those who want to know, a ruff is a ring of fabric gathered around an elastic. It slips over the head of a cat (or small dog). If you're crafty you can make these yourself, but we discovered them in New Orleans at a store called Chi-Wa-Wa-Ga-Ga (http://www.chiwawagaga.com/). It specializes in items for dinky dogs -- but you can use them for cats, too. They sell ruffs in all colors and fabrics, for all occasions. Honestly, I think Idgie must have willed us to go there and buy her one, because from the moment she saw it, she loved it and wanted to wear it. She now has them for Mardi Gras, Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Lammas (August 1), and she adores wearing them. It's the weirdest thing.

You can check out the website and order a ruff for your cat, but most cats really don't want clothes. Idgie is just, well, her wonderful freaky self!
