Checking out the childrens' sandpit

Fisters original home was the back yard of our appartment block. He lived there for the first year of his life with his mum Mrs Spot. When we first enticed him up he would go “home” every evening, but as time went by he stayed with us for longer and longer periods, much to the charigrin of his loving mum. She never did like people, and I’m sure that she sometimes gave him a good ticking off when he came back down. I can imagine her saying “what are you doing coming home at this time of night - and smelling of humans too!”
Nowadays (after 5 years) he doesn’t seem to bother about it much, although he is VERY interested in what goes on down there, and holds a regular vigil from our kitchen window.

Am I missing anything?

Once in a while (often a Friday or Saturday funnily enough), he will go all restless on us, pace backwards and forwards in the kitchen and complain loudly. He normally gets his own way, but we often regret it, because he reverts to type when he’s down there, will have little to do with us, and can risk staying out until all hours of the night! Unfortunately the burden of fetching him usually falls to Randi, as I was brought up with tough cats in slightly different circumstances and won’t let them push me around! But I must admit to bowing to circumstance a few times, and making a sleepy trip down the back stairs in the early hours of the morning.
As his trips are usually quite late in the evening, we don’t have a lot of pictures of him out there, and we unfortunately didn’t photograph him very much earlier. So here is a little collection from his last couple of visits.

What’s going on over there? (Notice the tail!)

At last...the long awaited Fister update....

Are you on the ground level of the building or does Fister "walk up?"

Oh Fister -- Friday and Saturday...boys night out! Some things never change do they???

That was a cute story and you have a beautiful cat and yard. Yum Yum and Dutchess loves to go outside...we let them just roam by themselves. We have lots of woods in front of our house and Yum Yum loves to explore..she caught her first frog the other night. :)

MOFF! He'd guard that door with all claws and his 1 dangerous tooth left! LOL! :)

Lut! Yeah, you better have a serious word with Maya now! ;)

yumyum6970! Was the frog tasty? :D She'll probably go out and get more, now she's got the taste for them! :D

Edwina, he's got one flight of stairs to run up - and he can do it real fast, if someone scares him! All he has to hope for is that our door is also open! :D

John says thanks for your nice comments! He claims, he not a chatter - but you wait and see, he'll get on to that - with a bit of persuasion! :D He actually feels he getting to know a few of you!

AAWWWWWW
Fister you are just too cute..... and what a big smile I now have after seeing the pic of you filling up on some greens!!:D You are such a pretty boy and a very stunning parade float kitty in the soft green grass. You be careful out there though and don't cause your mommy and daddy too much worry while out on your adventures sweet Fister.;)

What a gorgeous story! Fister might just be reminiscing about his old way of life, and deciding that the bed, pillow, delicious food and company are much better!

Yay, another story from John :D

I laughed so hard when I read the lil tagline "And a nice dirt roll before we retire to the humans lovely clean bed!" It reminds me so much of my Oliver and it's sooooooo cat-like!

I loved it :D :D

Ann, you´re right. It is sooo cat-alike!! ;) It made me wish I had my camera working (another story!), so I could take some photos on Fister´s counterpart over here, Sirocco the Triana Roofs Explorer!! :) But I´m afraid I´m not couterpart to John´s great writing style... but if I get my camera to work again, I´ll try to go on with the saga! :)

Nita, you MUST get that camera running again! We'd love to see pics of Sirocco on Triana's roof tops! :) Are you getting a digital soon? ;) If you are, be sure to let us know, John was a prof photographer and knows about good lenses and what else to look for! We've got a Nikon, but Canons have really good lenses too!
