I was lucky to be this cats steward. He never was a rough cuss but he
had his moments....of let's just say aloofness. He was one cool customer.
He liked to be the neigborhood strommer.
As a kitten, he was cute and cuddly, midnight black with a white dot on his chest like he was wearing a pendent. So I named him Diamond Jim....
DJ for short. He never took a bath but was always shiny and clean.
Talking about shiny.... those eyes of his were copper gold.
We lived in a cul-de-sac and were never worried about anything
happening to him. I was wrong....I bawled my eyes out, the
morning I came home from the night shift, and found him laying
lifeless at the stop sign near the entrance to the court I lived in.
He'd been a part of the family for ten years.
Well... I looked at his picture I kept on the side of the refridgerator today
and he's been gone seven years Oct. 13. And I miss that youngin'
somethin' bad.
