Jasper passed away, suddenly, a couple hours ago.

We went for a walk today, and he was normal, but on the way back he didn't want to walk anymore. This is also normal, as Jasper stops if he is cold or if there was a water puddle on the road.

We finally made it home, and he layed down for a couple hours. He then got up, stretched, and had a drink. He seemed a bit wobbly but nothing serious. After that he layed back down, and I sat on the floor petting him. He started to breathe a bit faster, and his heart was pounding. That's the first time I thought it might be serious, but hardly a minute passed before everything stopped.

I'm shocked, heartbroken. He just recently turned four years old.

Please think of our family.

OMGosh Robyn...I am stunned. I seen the name there and got nervous because there are a few on her but I didn't for a second think it was your Jasper. I am just floored. I am so very very sorry. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy. I am just completely and utterly shocked.

Jasper sweetheart look for my RB Shadow up there ok. He will be the big goofy akita with the yoda ears. He will be there to help comfort you and show you around. Watch over your mommy ok buddy.

I am sorry to be reading this. Jasper didn't suffer, he went smoothly and quickly. The shock and teh suddenness mean you and your family had no warning, no chance to prepare. taht makes this so very difficult.

Oh my gosh, I am so sorry to hear this. :( His time here was not long enough, but in the years he had he was well loved. We will all miss him. Thinking of you and your family. {{HUGS}}

:( Oh, Robyn, I am so, so sorry. Seems like a few of the PT dogs are passing unexpectedly lately. It's extremely hard to deal with when it is kind of expected, let alone when it's just sudden like this.

The pain will ease over time, trust me, but it never truly goes away. There are still times when I cry over Tango and wish so badly she was here, and it's been a couple of months already. Just try to think of all the good times you had with him. Again, I am very sorry. ((((hugs)))). :(

When I seen the name I thought there's was no way it's 'our' Jasper.

I'm so sorry for the sudden loss of your dear Jasper.

I am also in shock, and deeply saddened by the sudden loss of your Jasper. He was always a favorite of mine (all three of your pups were). Such an unexpected loss is so hard to deal with. Many {{{Hugs}}} and prayers are going out for you, Robyn, and your whole family.

I am so sorry for your loss. Jasper was so young, but he went peacefully to the bridge. Now he is playing hard with his new friends, and even chasing a couple of RB kitties. You will see him again one day, but until then, he will watch over your family ( a special guardian angel). RIP sweet Jasper, you were loved dearly!

I am so sorry, I saw his name & hoped it was some other dog, not your boy. Wow, he went really quickly, at least you know whatever it was, he didn't suffer. Our sympathies to you & your family. He was far too young. :(
Run free, Jasper, look for Sherman. He was 4 too, so you young guys can have fun playing together at the RB.

I am soo sorry for your loss. This thread just makes me loss for words.

When I first came to PT, Jasper & your crew were the first pups I seen on here. I always LOVED seeing pictures of Jasper.

I am truely sorry.

Thank you all for your posts, thoughts and prayers. I've read them all a few times, but couldn't find the words to post.

Val, thank you, the picture is beautiful.

I am very thankful that I was at Jasper's side during all of this, and that he wasn't in any pain. I still kick myself for not listening to my instinct and going on an emergency vet visit. But, whether it would of helped or not, "what ifs" don't help.

Some of you may know that I lost my soul-cat, Tigger, less than a year ago. Also suddenly. This house feels too big, too quiet, and too empty. We all miss them so much.

Thank you all, again. I miss PT very much, and all of you remind me why.

Robyn, I am so shocked and so horribly sorry to see this. I can only imagine the unbearable sadness you must be dealing with. It is hard to grasp that he is gone. I cannot express how very sorry I am :( Play hard at the bridge, dearest handsome Jasper.
