View Full Version : Himalayan Congestion?
Aloysius

Aloysius is a 19 year old healthy Himalayan cat. He seems to have alot of congestion. I used to think it was hairballs -- but it sounds as if he is breathing through congestion. He spits up quite a bit and sometimes it interferes with his eating. I read about inhaling peppermint for people. Has anyone tried inhalation for cats?

I agree. Congestion is not something you want to mess with. I would rule out with the vet first, then think about herbal remedies. With a cat this old, well, I wouldn't take chances at all.
Let us know what happens with your visit.
We will stay tuned! :)

Himmies tend more toward breathing problems than other breeds because of their flattened faces. A vet trip is in order, otherwise keep the house humidified, and be sure hes eating/drinking normally.

I concur w/everyone. Vet, as soon as possible, especially given Aloysius' age. Please keep us updated.
