is it heathly to put baby powder on your dog's coat to make it smell better and make it softer?
Spencer smells really bad, well ike a dog that stays outside..who knows what he rolls in. and its such a pain in the butt to bring him in a give him a bath, and i cant give him a bath outside because its so cold. so would baby powder help?

I don't think it's a good idea..there are sprays that you can use on your dogs coat made for them like this.

If puppy has rolled in something will powder or perfume keep it off the carpet? Every once in awhile one of both of mine will go into wolf hunting mode and roll in the doo-doo of their intended pretend prey - deer. Neutrogena tar shampoo is my solution. If it's all over your yard then you have to find a way to keep puppy away from it. Not the easiest thing to do sometimes. Telling them No, and pulling them off the spot if you catch them helps a little. But one is fighting their instincts.

Note tar shampoo is very drying, and wouldn't be recommended for daily bathing if this is a daily occurance. In that case a doggy oat meal shampoo might be better. Still prevention is best.
