I think our two young cats may be considered 'lynx point' siamese. I can't figure out how to attach a photo of them. Can someone help out? I know that I need to hit the yellow 'button' that looks like a mountain and sun, but then what?
Thanks!

Hi,
I am a Lynx Point Siamese lover, and I own one (or rather she "owns" me). :p Anyways, this is how to attach documents; I only know how to attach them, not put them in the message. Go to "Manage Attachments," and then browse for your pictures. Next, upload them. Then they should be ready to go! I've attached a picture of my Lynx Point Siamese, Nellie. She is 4 years old. I can't wait to see the pictures of your kitties! I really love Lynx Point Siamese.
:) :) :)

Arg! I still can't figure it out! Where do I find 'manage attachments'?

Welcome to PT.:) When you click on the post button keep scrolling down until you get to additional options. The 4th item listed is manage attachments. Just click on this button and then you can upload attachment pictures. Good luck.:)
I also have a lynx point siamese mix. Her name is Pearl and she's 2 years old. Here are a couple of pictures of her.

I am the biggest idiot ever. I can't figure out what you mean by the 'post button'. When I click on the 'insert image' button (the yellow square one with the mountain) I get a script prompt. thats it.

Method 1: If the picture is already on the Internet somewhere, you can use the "Yellow icon with mountains". When the box comes up that says
"Enter the text to be formatted
xxx"
you type the url of the picture in. A URL is a web address, it has to start with http:// and end with ".jpg" People use this method to post pictures from Imagestation, or Photobucket sites they have set up ...
Method #2: If the picture is just on your computer, you have to use the "attachment" feature. Just below the dialog box where you type your message, there is a section called "Additional Options." The second option is called "Attach Files." Hit that button, then a window called "Manage Attachments" comes up. You then hit one of the "Choose File" buttons, and show it where the image you want to use is located. Once you have chosen the file, hit the button in the lower right corner of that box that is labeled "Upload." Once you have done that, you can hit the "Close this Window" button, and post your message, and your pictures will appear at the bottom of your message.

Ok, I have given up. You will just have to take my word for it- they are the most beautiful cats in the world (or, at least the most beautiful cats in our house :). Also, they are the only cats in our house)
In the 'additional options' box on MY screen my only options are
1) automatically parse links in text (??)
2) disable smilies in text
3) choose the subscription notification type.
I've concluded that I'm NOT a complete idiot, I'm just not getting the same info on my screen as everyone else (!?!?)

Ok, Now I've got it- I think that my account wasn't validated, because I just got another e-mail from pettalk.com and now my 'additional options' box is letting me attach photos!
This is Luna and Soleil. They are about 8 months old. They were born to a tiger female and a black male- both parents were strays (I got them thru a shelter, but they were being cared for in someone's home). There was a third lynx point in their litter along with a tiger and a gray. The three lynx points were born white. Soleil's eyes are blue, Luna's irises are blue in the center, yellow around the outside. Neither of them have the siamese body type. Do these guys actually qualify as siamese, even though they obviously weren't purely bred?
I've attached a photo- lets see if it works!

They're goregous and yes they're lynx point siamese mixes just like my Pearl.:) When Pearl was a kitten she was very light in color and then the older she got the darker she got. They may also become a bit darker as they age.
Here's what Pearl looked like as a kitten.

Yep, Lynx Point Siamese mixes. Siamese tend to have shorter fur than these two, but their points are well defined.
Stunning, unusual eye color too.

Thanks, he definitely shows more of the tabby side of the breed than most Lynx Pts. I've seen, down to the spotted belly. He's a very good natured cat, and pretty rambunctious! He was a rescue cat from a local animal hospital, his previous owners couldn't afford the urinary tract surgery he needed. Here is another pic of him a few weeks after surgery (the fur on his front legs and right side of his neck hadn't fully grown back in yet, from where the IVs were hooked up)

We have a cat we beleive to be a lynx point/blue point mix. here is a rare photo of her:
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3055/3107449083_c6699e3b6b.jpg She is so active and curious that is is hard to get pictures of her.
We had a cat years ago that looked almost exactly like this one. THAT cat was absolutely bonkers. Shy, but the bizarre things she did to entertain herself made us think she was a biscuit short of a dozen. This kitten was very calm and out going and a dream...and suddenly she is crazy as well. Still outgoing and very friendly, but oh the things she does! Are all lynx points nuts? Is it a personality trait? Oh she also is our "medicine cat" and has a knack for knowing when one of us (or the other cats) needs some extra love. She has gone so far as to lick and groom an injury that isnt obvious...got a headache, she will lick you head. Nose stuffy? Yep she is sure to lick your nose. All while purring very very loudly and rubbing all over you. It's quite interesting.
When she first came into our home, she literally made herself at home. It was as if she had always been here and greeted each of our cats as if they were her long lost best friends. Even gave our dog an "I'm in charge now" swipe to the nose and turned her back and walked away. No fear at all. She was named Gracie as a joke because she is definitely not graceful...she falls off of windowsills and such and lacks cat grace for sure. But we have since dubbed her Crazy because it definitely fits her. Anyhow, just looking for more info on her "true" colors and personality traits.
thanks

Welcome to PT.:D Yes, she's definitely a lynx point siamese. My Pearl is a very active girl and almost always on the go. She used to cuddle with my cat Storm, who is the alpha cat, when she was a kitten so she was much more independent then. Now she rarely cuddles with him and they seem to hate each other at times.:( She's now a big mama's girl and has to be with me when I'm using the bathroom sink or using the shower or toilet. She also loves to sit in my kitchen sink and drink from the faucet.
She loves to play with the tiny furry mice and will sometimes play fetch with me like a dog. She's also obsessed with straws and goes crazy when she sees one. She's a very intelligent cat and also a very loving and nuturing cat. She loves to try to clean all of the other cats bottoms like she's their mother. I think that she'll become the new alpha cat some day when Storm becomes very old, too weak, or has passed on. She's about 8lbs and tiny compared to my other cats but she has a huge voice and loves to chat with me.

My cat looks like the pictures you all have posted... except she has white mittens on her front paws and white sock on the back. Is she some sort of Lynx Point cross? Or does this happen in a Lynx Point? I've never had a name for what breed she might be until today! (she was dropped off in a box with her sister when they were about 6 weeks old at an office I used to work at. now she's 6 YEARS old. :) )

Do you have any pictures of her that you could post here for us? She could be a mixture of a few different cat breeds. I think that Lynx Points typically have the tabby markings on all four of their paws.

I was just told that my cat may be a lynx point, and from your pictures, I think he may be. What do you think?
he was also alot lighter when he was a kitten and has gotten darker as he gets older. He is super cuddly and a total love. He loves to sleep under the covers with his head on the pillow. He's a great mouser as well. I think he acts like a wild cat; when he's outside, he walks low to the ground and is very aware of every noise. Do other lynx point owners notice these traits as well?
I was stunned to find out there is another lynx point named Pearl! What a fun coincidence!:D

I'm not able to attach a photo just yet (I think because I just joined this forum). I'll attach as soon as I can so you can all see Pearl#2.
I read some more posts from other Lynx Point owners and Pearl is also a natural healer. I'm a massage therapist and when I was practicing massage he used to go crazy to be let in to the massage room. If my client was OK with it, I'd let him in and he would immediately jump right up onto the massage table and sit right on the spot that was injured! Once I had a sore throat and he climbed onto my chest and put one paw right in the middle of my throat. I joke with my massage therapist friends that my cat practices Reiki, a Japanese energetic healing technique. I don't think I'm too far off!

He's so handsome and he's definitely a lynx point siamese mix. The term lynx point means that his points have the tabby markings which are the face, legs, and tail, and maybe part of his body.
I also have a flame point siamese mix and this is Starr. He started out white and then as he matured he became orange where his points are. I was told that the orange points take about 2 years to finally show to their full potential. He'll be 4 in March so he has a lot of more orange in his fur now.:)

The other kitty is Sprinkles. We got Sammy for her to play with. She is calico with tabby coloring. Our vet also thinks there is a hint of siamese in Sprinkles. They are playing together all the time now.

I adopted a sweet sweet kitty that the rescue group named Brie (because she was "soft and luscious" just like warm brie cheese). She had such an unusual look to her. I've always had Siamese (my last cat was a Tonkinese) and when they told me she was Siamese I scoffed. I saw a show on TV about Siamese cats and they showed Lynx point. I never heard of such a thing but it looked just like my sweet little Brie. She's not talkative like any other Siamese that I've had and my Tonk was pretty quiet too..she only talked when she had something important to say.
Anyway, as soon as I'm allowed I'll post some pictures of her. I do believe now, after reading these posts and seeing the pics, that I have a Lynx point Siamese on my hands. I can't wait to show her off.
By the way, I also adopted a little yellow tabby (he's actually kind of buff color) as a companion. I'll post his pic too.

HI! I can post pics now. Here is my favorite picture of both the kitties. It captures their personalities perfectly. He's smirking because he's tormenting his big sister, his favorite activity, and she's reluctantly tolerant of the annoying little brother (his name is Scutter). I also put another picture of Brie so we can see if she really is Lynx point. I have more body shots of her if I need to post them.

On January 11 this year I lost my cat, Patch. If it's possible for an animal to be considered a soul-mate, he was certainly mine. He struggled with heart complications (he had a heart twice the size of a normal heart... both literally and figuratively) and arthritis problems for the last two years I had him, but I don't regret a minute of it.
I found him a little over four years ago when I was out walking with my family in our neighborhood. He came running straight towards me and jumped up in my arms. I put him down thinking that he must have belonged to another family and hoped he would run back home when we left, but he started walking behind us. We decided that maybe, if we started running, he would get tired of following and head back to his home. So we picked up the pace, and so did he.
He managed to follow us all the way back to the house, so my mother and I took him in the car to drive back to where we first saw him. I opened the door and he jumped out, running towards another house. We went back home, hoping that he made it home safely and not thinking too much of it.
The next morning I went downstairs to get some breakfast and heard a noise outside of the front door. Sure enough, there he was, waiting on the doormat. Looking back, I can honestly say that was one of the best days of my life, even if I didn't know it at the time.
Anyway, getting back to the point... losing him was one of the hardest things I've ever gone through. I've lost grandparents and friends before, so I don't know why it was so much harder. He left a massive void in my heart and I cried day and night after he was gone. For a while I was certain the pain would never go away.
So, after a couple of weeks, my boyfriend and I started talking about getting another animal. We didn't want a REPLACEMENT, of course, just another family member to love. We went to a nearby animal shelter to look at some of the dogs that had been rescued. We had decided on getting a dog because I wasn't ready for another cat. Patch was so perfect for me, I worried that I would unfairly hold other cats up to his standard and I didn't think that would be right.
After we finished looking through all of the dogs, we walked past the building where all the cats were sheltered (there were several windows in the cat's rooms that looked out on the walkway). A beautiful white cat with shocking blue eyes caught my attention and I decided to go look inside. I found his room and went in to pet him but he seemed disinterested. However, this BEAUTIFUL and incredibly soft long-haired cat with crystal blue eyes came running up to me purring loudly and rubbing on my hand. I was shocked by how sweet and excited it was to see me. I played with the cat for a few minutes then decided to go back home.
For two weeks, that cat kept popping back into my thoughts. Finally, after one really bad tear-filled night, I got online and found the shelter's website. I flipped through almost 100 pictures before I found one that I was pretty sure was the one I had seen. It was a small, one year-old female lynx point Siamese named Jolie. The next morning I woke up early, went back to the shelter, found her and filled out the application to take her home.
I know someone said that they have noticed a "healing" sense with their lynx points. It may not be in the same manner that they mentioned, but Jolie has mended my heart in a way that I didn't think possible. She has filled me back up with more joy than I ever thought I could contain. While I still desperately miss Patch, I never would have found Jolie if he hadn't passed when he did. I know now that everything happens for a reason, and that even the painful things can eventually lead to something really amazing if just given the chance.
When I get the right forum access I'll post a picture for you of Patch and Jolie. I never knew there were many cats out there like her so it's really exciting to see all the pictures you guys have posted. It's actually uncanny how much tumsIU's kitty looks like Jolie. I saw the picture you posted and it took me by surprise.
Anyway, there's my story about finding my beautiful lynx point (sorry it was so long).

Welcome to PT Eliae.:) I'm so sorry to hear about your loss:( but I'm glad that you were able to open up your heart to another cat in need of a wonderful home.:) I look forward to hearing more about Jolie and hopefully seeing many pictures of her too.:) My home wouldn't be the same without my lynx point Pearly girl.:)

Thank you for the kind words and the warm welcome!
Ok, I managed to get these pictures off of my dying camera (I seem to have lost the battery charger... tisk tisk). I decided to just do imageshack links instead of hosting the pictures on the forums. I didn't want to overload you guys! :)
So, first one up is my BFF, Patch (http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/9702/dsc00388f.jpg). Plastic straws (http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/8631/dsc00416.jpg) were his favorite thing in the whole world. I used to get an extra straw just for him when I got something at a fast food restaurant.
Now for my little "princess," Jolie. Here is the first picture (http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/2456/dsc00957n.jpg) I managed to take of her where she didn't look like a blur (from moving around so much). When we realized she liked covered spaces and being up high, Ben and I fixed her a bed in the travel cage we had used to bring her home. First she relaxed (http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/8743/dsc00993e.jpg), then she relaxed some more (http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/936/dsc00992z.jpg), then a little more (http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/8999/dsc00984.jpg), then she decided to feign death by relaxation (http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/1996/dsc00990.jpg).
She fell in love with a little rectangle basket that was sitting on top of Ben's desk. Hey, I got it at ROSS! (http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/5406/dsc00998cut.jpg) I’m really not even sure how she managed to fit in there (http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/3585/dsc01010.jpg).
Now, her time is spent lazily staring out the window (http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/299/dsc01032s.jpg) (watching the birds), eating grass (http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/8564/dsc01058.jpg), testing the sink (http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/5646/dsc01123.jpg) (one can never be too safe), pretending to be a turtle (http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/6944/dsc01035n.jpg), and getting into as many boxes (http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/2751/dsc01013t.jpg) as possible.
Oh, and she's also great at stealing hearts (http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/3529/dsc01044.jpg)... I can speak from first-hand experience, of course!
I don't know where I'd be without her!
- Eliae
oh, p.s. Jolie and I are about to move into a new apartment. I'm screening off the porch so she can have a spot outside to sunbathe. I'll make sure to take lots of pictures as we both get settled into our new home!

wow, she's gorgeous!
Thank you!!! You know, she spent three whole MONTHS at the shelter before she came home with me? It seems so impossible that someone didn't snatch her up sooner.
It is perfect that they named her Jolie because it means "pretty" in French. I would have gone with "Sassy" too because she always puts sass in everything she does. She has this "I'm the queen of the world" walk where she looks like she's strutting down a catwalk with her fluffly little tail straight up in the air.
btw, Toby and Havoc are both completely adorable. I've always liked cats with unusual patterns or pretty eyes. I love Toby's little booties and Havoc has such a beautiful face! Oh, and this picture (http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y77/DirtyRat/Toby%20and%20Havoc/011-1.jpg) is SOO sweet, one of my favorites!

believe it or not both of my boys came from a shelter also. Havoc had been there for 5 months when I went to see him. I decided in 10 minutes that I wanted him. Toby was a breeder surrender and had been at the shelter maybe a month and a half. His sister had already been adopted, I don't know why they didn't take him too. Oh well, their loss, my gain, LOL.

Eliae, thanks for sharing pictures of handsome Patch and gorgeous Jolie with us.:) It sure looks like Jolie has settled into your home very nicely. I look forward to hearing much more about her. Good luck with your move.:) You may also want to venture into the cat general section and introduce yourself and your beloved cats.;)
All 6 of my cats are also rescues. Storm was abandoned by his former owner and was in the stray section at the Humane Society. Sky was also a stray and was adopted but then returned because his adopters cats didn't like him. He was also from the Humane Society. Sunny and Starr were from rescue groups. Pearl and Ziggy Stardust were dumped in an Arizona feral park during the summer in 100 degree+ weather.:( I adopted them from another PT'er on here.

Pearl and Ziggy Stardust were dumped in an Arizona feral park during the summer in 100 degree+ weather.
I can't believe Pearl and Ziggy were dumped like that. I will never, ever understand someone who could just abandon an animal. I think every one of my family's pets have been strays except for one. It was a dog named Buckley and he was a purebred hunting dog. We ended up having to give him away because he had more energy than our family (and household possessions) could handle, but we took the necessary time to find him a good, loving home.
I just wish people would learn that animals aren't like boxes of cereal. You can't just grab them when you feel like it then throw them out when you're done. It doesn't matter what background an animal has experienced, they are all capable of being the perfect pet if just provided with love and security. It's amazing how quickly they can forget all of the bad things if just given a chance with a family who will care for him/her.
I feel very strongly about spaying and neutering pets to prevent overpopulation and limit the number of animals abandoned, but I wont get into that now... I'm pretty sure the post would be far, far, far too long.
Anyway, I'm really glad all of your animals found their way into your open arms. One of my wishes is that every animal I see at the shelter will find his or her way into a loving home. Even though I know this is very unlikely, I still hope for it whenever I think about them.
His sister had already been adopted, I don't know why they didn't take him too. Oh well, their loss, my gain, LOL.
So true! He was meant to be with you, that's why he didn't get adopted at the same time!
Now, I don't necessarily believe in fate, but I think that animals have a way of finding US rather than us finding THEM. Patch was a stray and Jolie was a shelter cat, and I wasn't expecting either one of them to come into my life when they did. I had been looking at adopting a dog when Jolie picked me! Actually, come to think of it, that's the same thing that happened with Patch. I had been wanting to get a Maltese puppy then Patch came running into my life and it was a done deal.
Also...
My dad found a cat on the side of the road almost 13 years ago. All my dad could see was a pair of ears sticking above the grass. He couldn't understand why a cat would be sitting by the road like that so he turned around to see if he was ok. When my dad realized the cat wasn't running away as he approached, he knew something had happened. He expected to see blood as he got closer, but didn't see anything. The cat just looked up at him with these amazing blue eyes. So, my dad grabbed a jacket from the car and gently picked the cat up, put him in the car, and drove him to the nearest vet.
The vet took him into surgery to determine the extent of the damage. Apparently he had been trying to run across the road and a car ran over his tail. The force of it crushed the bones in his tail and pulled his hip out of socket. He had been sitting on the side of the road all day and my dad was the first person to see him. He was dehydrated and badly hurt.
The surgery removed his tail and put his hip back in place. They kept him at the vet and searched for two months to find the owner, but no one came forward. Turns out, that was the best thing that could have happened. My mom fell completely head over heels for him. I tried to name him "Lucky" but the name didn't stick. Instead he's "Not-so-Itty-Bitty-Bubba-Kitty" or just "Bubba" for short. He is completely neurotic, but he's a HUGE member of our family, and I don't know where we would have been the past 13 years without him! And yes, he's been referred to as my brother before! sigh...
So yeah, I think that we were meant for our pets just as much as they were meant for us. Toby and Havoc were meant to be a part of your family and I'm certain they will always know that picking you was the best decision of their entire lives! :D
- Eliae
p.s. Sorry that was so long-winded and pretty much the farthest stretch from the actual TOPIC we're in, this is just what popped into my head, lol.

Hello all! I have been searching online for the answer to what kind of kitten i rescued, and my search brought me here. I am wondering if my kitten could possibly also be a possible lynx point siamese?
This is my little guy, Neko.

Looks like a Lynx Point to me - are those eyes blue? I can't really tell the color.
In any case - WELCOME, NEKO! ...and welcome to your rescuer, too! :)

Thank you!! They started out as blue (I think thats most kittens though?), now they are a muted blue green. He is wonderful to have, as my husband is in the Army and right now gone everyday from 4pm to 3am! He is incredibly clingy however, and when he wants attention he will come sit on my lap grab my face between his paws and meow at me. At night he has to sleep up next to my neck and ALWAYS touching my face.
I love his ears they look like gray velvet.

Yes, I think all kitties start with blue eyes, as I remember. You should start a thread in the "introductions" section of this site, so more can be introduced to your Neko. This thread is a little older and people may not check on it, so Neko would be hidden from view. We're all addicted to pics and stories! :)

Heres my blue eyed baby, I found him as a stray coming to my door meowing and climbing my tree, stole my heart, and he is now in indoor loving cat that plays, plays, and PLAYS! He's almost 3 according to the local SPCA and loves to EAT. Loves vanilla icecream once in a while (he only gets a lick)! I suspected Siamese in his genes, but I wasn't completely aware of the different types of breeds until recently. How cool. So tell me what you think, is he a Siamese mix, possibly Lynx Point?......Thanks cat lovers!

He looks like he's got some siamese in him, probably a snowshoe with some lynx in him, since his leg points are striped.

definitely a lynx point something. He has the exact same markings as my Havoc, which the HS had listed as snowshoe, although I can't find any "lynx point snowshoe" pics on the 'net.
your kitty is definitely pointed though! I'll bet the stripes on his head fade (but don't stop) right in front of his ears? He's very cute!

This is Stretch...he's a lynx point-snowshoe siamese mix too apparently. Found him as a stray hunting outdoors and living in our tree. He is now a unique indoor cat for the last 4 months. Loves to play, stretch out, plays with water, nips and bats you until you wake up, cold-cuts and fancy are his fav, even goes for icecream or whatever your eating (he always has to see whats cookin), likes to jump in the fridge when your not looking, plays hide n ATTACK, climbs in the tub and behaves for baths, opens the closet or any door thats unlocked, cuddles and gives kisses, chases his tail, and talks back! Love em' to pieces...

Hello everyone!
I found this thread on google while attempting to research the specific coloring and breed of my beloved Haley.
As far as I can tell, she seems to be a "Snow Lynx Point" coloring. I am new to all this, and it is quite confusing, so perhaps I am mistaken. Also, I suspect she may be a Siamese or Siamese-Mix, but again I would appreciate any opinions.
All the kitties in this thread are ADORABLE and I really have enjoyed reading through all your stories.
Haley has been nothing short of an absolute blessing to me. I adopted her from a humane society during a very stressful and tenuous time in my life. Her companionship and love played an integral part in me getting through that dark time.
Fast forward a couple years, and I am about to get married, and my fiance has fallen in love with Haley as well (it is impossible not to!)
She is very shy around strangers, and runs and hides when anyone except my fiance and I are in the apartment, but at the same time, once she "gets to know" someone she is incredibly loving.
She also has absolutely uncanny comedic timing. My fiance and I routinely hold entire conversations with her, and she never drops a single cue as she "meows" in with her very opinionated chattering.
I figured I would include a few pictures to help with any possible "breed" identification. Many of these are a bit older photos, and I did not have a good camera at the time, my apologies.
I look forward to hearing your feedback everyone!
WARNING: Haley is the CUTEST thing on the face of the planet... I am not responsible if you get in trouble at work for "AWWWWWW'ing" too long... ;-)
Here's my "Haley-Bear" (No idea why I started calling her that, but it's stuck!)
Here she is at about 7 weeks old... First day home form the shelter!
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t241/Fazumar/heytherehalleybear.jpg
Another pic at around 7 weeks, she is still mostly creme/tan at this point with very few markings. This picture always cracks me up, she looks like she is telling ghost stories at a campfire!
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t241/Fazumar/talesfromthecampfire.jpg
Sorry for the large size... This is a bit blurry, but its a good closeup showing her face structure and markings.
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t241/Fazumar/CandleKittyPics023.jpg
Here she is doing one of the things she does best... Being hungry...
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t241/Fazumar/haleyhungry.jpg
She is usually not too photogenic, so I was thrilled to capture this extremely cute "Candid" shot of her... Great showing her face structure and markings too...
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t241/Fazumar/Haley.jpg
Country-Girl-Haley wishes you a Happy Halloween ;-) (the next year she was dressed up in a piggy costume, I will try to find a picture soon)
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t241/Fazumar/100_1135.jpg
She is always telling me to shut up! The nerve of these cats, I tell ya!

Thankyou for posting the picture. When we went to the vet a couple weeks ago I asked the vet and he said no because she had tabby markings BUT she has the strcture of a siamese. A few miniutes later another vet was brought in because she is a lover of lynx points and she saw her and was amazed by her and said yes and she was a great find. She goes in on wednesday to get fixed, I'm going to miss her the 2 nights she's gone.
everyone elses kittens are so adorable, I always wanted a siamese cat but hubby didn't so I got what I wanted and he's in love with her. But she's VERY loud, shemakes her presence in everyroom she comes into.

You're very welcome. Actually in a Lynx Point the tabby markings are her points whereas in a Chocolate Point it's the dark brown area's that are the points. She'll become darker as she gets older just like my Pearl did. Yes, most Siamese cats are big talkers and they make their presence known. My Pearl may be a petite 8-9lbs but she has a huge voice.:) I'm sure that her spay will go well. Good luck.:)

Yes she's becoming very dark in her features and her jaw line is becoming more and more like a siamese. She's going to be petite too at her last check up at 5mths she was 5lbs but the vet doesn't think she'll get much bigger then 7-8lbs. I've never known a cat want so much attention, if your busy she will sit there screaming at you and if you avoid her for to long she comes over and bites your toes then runs away. I had a tabby growing up and she had personality but nothing like Sasha.

I just got a kitten from the SPCA. She was in foster care. I saw the rest of the litter and they were al grey tabbies except her. I can't figure out how she was so different. Her mom was a black and white cat and all her brothers and sisters were completely different. The only thing I can think of is that the mom had multiple partners. I've heard that cats can have multiple partners and give birth to different types of cats.
I don't have a name for her just yet... I was thinking Josie, Shyla/Shylo, Lexie, Nala, or Smooch ( she loves to give me kisses). She is both crazy at one point ( she runs up and swats me and then runs away!),tearing around my apartment, or, really sweet and cuddly the next minute. Usually kittens aren't very cuddly but she is!!
Anyways, i think she's part lynx point. She seems to have the markings. Hope my pictures go through!

Hi everyone, I got my kitty from a rescue when she was a kitten along with her sister (who is a Tuxedo), so I have no idea what the mother or father look like. Anyway, I have been googling Lynx Point Siamese and pretty sure she has that in her, except she has white paws as well like the earlier poster.
Here are a couple pictures of her

Hi, I'm new here! Sorry "Krazyaboutkatz" I thought I was using a unique name (how do I change it?) I have been looking at the adorable pics, Lynx Points are so much fun! I also stumbled upon a Lynx Point at a shelter. The reason I chose Nikki (Kannika) was because out of all the cats, she had "attitude". She spoke the loudest, and I could have sworn I heard her say "out!" She was 12 weeks old and all white except for a little smudge of color on her nose that looked like she had played in the mud. A month later, her colors came in and she is gorgeous. I stumbled upon this site when I googled "lynx point" trying to identify my breed. I would like to mention that I found information on one site that said lynx point cats can usually be identified by the "M" that the stripes form on the forehead. Nikki has them and I noticed most of the kittens posted here have them, too. I hope to post a pic of Nikki soon...give those kitties lotsalove!!!!!!

You can write to me, and I can change your username for you. Your name is just one letter different, so it is technically unique, as hers has the "a" in about, but you might want something a little more obviously different because of the possibility of confusion!
And welcome!

Hey, no problem. It happens.:) Welcome to PT!!!:) I'm sure you'll love it here. Yes, the Lynx Point has the tabby markings as their points. My Pearl is also very vocal, demanding, high energy, and dominant. She may be my smallest cat at about 8-9lbs but she has a huge voice to make up for that. I'd love to see pictures of your kitty.:)

Hi!
I named my kitty Twyla!
I love her so much. I bring her with me to work and she loves it! She's very friendly and talkative, and also very calm... she doesn't get skittish with noises at all.
Anyways, just wanted to tell you what I named her. She is growing fast!

Hi! I think we've got a Lynx Point as well. We know his mother was Siamese. He was white as a kitten, but not anymore! Here's our big baby Sam.

My first Lynx point siamese-more photos as we get better acquainted-had another siamese that was all black before, but NOT this boisterous, oph my goodness, tad snarly, hisses, ornery for this first week-she was found in middle of 5 lane highway, scared to death, not hurt or hit by car but apparently trying to cross-1st day here, she was very protectorant of my bathroom, did food trail to front door to get her outside, then when I went to lock car doors at night, come back to find her in middle of entry way , standing guard, hissing, trying to buite-sure, it takes some cats long time to get used to new surroundings but felt this was the vampire cat from hell that first day-the red glare of the eyes (learned why such is true due to pigment/retina of the eyes, much like my own??!!).
That's too when I learned they are protective of surroundings, BOISTEROUS/loud, they talk-this one sure does...Very stand-off-nish.
Whole week, would let me pet her when I fed here, that's about it.
Meanwhile following day, left fromnt door half open and just when I( thought she was coming around by sitting next to me here by desk, as i was fervently listing things online, loooked up to find a feral cat i've also been feeding I am petting-eegads...was tamer in my home than my new to me kitty who is house cat, or supposedly house cat-she is declawed, have not located her real family so I can proviode loving nourishing home for her as this is house with big yard, lots of love to give...
Stand-offnish and hisses like last nioght after feeding here when I got home from work, she tried to BITE me, hissing at me after such-what?
UNTIL today when I got home from work is she just now warming up to me. She followed me around yard and let me scratch her, she is affectionate and loves to be brushed BUT she has long hair, such worries me about my asthma, allergies as I THOUGHT dander in siamese I would NOT be allergic to
Photo attached of her...Think "My Kitty" is appropriate name -tad undecided so far...(have learned in past to be careful when naming a cat-#1 as you may have to call out to them-lol-last one I had, got/found him too young from his mother, part siamese, but all black as he suckled my skin...called him "Sucker" -sounded really nice when calling him in neighborhood)
I don't have html url for her, have her within my pictures so how do i attach one?I found site through google search, wanted to find out more about her breed, etc-but off to bed as 5am comes early as I have store/booth at local huge Fleamasters Fleamrket here in Ft Myers...

I'm glad to find a thread discussing the topic of these cats. It seems i just took in a lynx point siamese mix and these cats are "different" to say the least. I'm use to cats being scared of new places, skiddish, calm, and not protective. Yet this little guy seems comfortable traveling between houses for visits, wants to wrestle with anything, and stands guard at the door when my neighbors make noise. The one non-siamese behavior is the vocals. He just purrs and occaisionally squeaks for a meow.
My cousin got this little guy along with his sisters when they were very very young(not yet on solid foods) and raised them to 8wks before finding homes. I got him home before really knowing what he was and now i just hope he calms down as he ages because now he spends every waking moment playing/pouncing until he runs out of steam, sleeps for 20 minutes and repeats. The really bright side is that he seems to have inherited that non/low shedding gene. So i can play with him in work clothes and i'm never covered in cat hair.
Here are some pics from before i got him home, he has the white paws(and mismatching pad coloration)

You've pretty much described my Pretzel to the T, except she is very vocal. She isn't scared of anything except really rambunctious dogs who try to get in her face.
My late kitty, Sophie, was a lynx point Siamese as well. She was a feral when I got her so she was pretty timid of new people and very much attached to me. Sadly her kidneys failed at 1 1/2 years old and I had to make the hard decision to have her PTS. She was, and always will be, my heart kitty.

Pretzel's body definitely has more color to her coat, but she's also older than Sophie was, and they tend to get darker with age.

Its funny you mention the dog thing, all 3 of those kittens were brought into a household that also had a big Rottweiler. They all played with the big dog and the one i took had started sleeping in the dog's bed. No fear of him whatsoever.

Im wondering what kind of points my kitten has or is considered to be... the people that were giving them away have no idea who the fathers are as there were 2 pregnant cats who gave birth 1-2 weeks apart. Moms were both dsh calico and black. There were total of 13 kittens and were all different colors. There were two kittens that were cream colored with brown points on them and i happened to take one home lol. Im pretty sure dad had longer fur as my kitten has medium length fur... is it also possible he had some type of siamese mix in him or is it just genetics that can create the seal points?

Hello,
I didn't know this site existed. I just typed in lynx point siamese and found you. I am a cat lover at heart. I have 4 cats. What caught my eye were the pictures of all these beautiful cats. I fell in love with the lynx point. I adopted my Bella last year at Petsmart. I will post a picture of her as soon as I get permission to attach. I'm still waiting for approval. My Bella is some type of Siamese. She has the blue eyes but she has the white paws. She is small, so I call her Baby Bella. She's the smallest cat in the house. I will post pictures soon.

I would still consider her to be a Lynx Point Siamese cat mix like my Pearl. When they're born they're all white. Then as they age they get darker and their points come out more. My Pearl is petite and is about 8lbs or so. Bella sure is a gorgeous girl.:)

I adopted my lynx point from a rescue. She was about 11 weeks old at the time. She is now about 5 months old. I am totally intrigued by her. I have awful cat allergies and was trying to find one that did not affect me. I had a siamese years ago that did not bother my allergies so I decided to search for a siamese to rescue. I found my Lola at a rescue facility about 10 hours away from my home. I planned a trip to pick her up and have been completely in love with her ever since. She is amazing.

http://i1288.photobucket.com/albums/b490/Annie_Acor/Tweety89-25-12-1.jpg
Notice that Frankie's fur is darker than Sweets is. I found out this is because Sweets has been an indoor cat mostly before I got her, and strictly indoor since I have had her. Frankie was a stray, always outdoors before I got him. When they live outside, the fur gets darker to absorb more heat from the sun. Interesting fact I did not know.

Shortly thereafter an older man friend of mine just had to have her-so off she went to a neighbor's BIG home...His wife took her to the vet for shots, info about her, health, etc. She was about 4 years old, healthy and of course fixed.
Oddly, after he died, his wife getting freedom once again to go wherever and whenever she wanted was gone a lot. She also got a volunteer job, suddenly being out of house few days per week after ALWAYS being home AND enclosing in her screened porch where Sassy practically lived with glass no longer screens, Sassy retaliated by peeing on her carpeting.
That excuse, concurrently his wife was going to take a long trip to California to see her son, daughter, grand kids, her excuse was that she could find no one she could TRUST to feed Sassy..
I tried to explain to her, Sassy missed Hank always being there and her, too-she said nonsense, come and get her...That was late last summer...After I'd moved to THIS house-formerly at another...
"Clawless" or "Spoiled Brat" cat is more like it, rather than Sassy
This is 1st cat I have had in my life, (NOT complaining) who ONLY likes dry food-she is finicky as well-also like only 1 of 2 varieties of Pounce snacks...ONLY drinks water, never milk..
She loves the outdoors, stays close by on patio table, or here in fence in yard, occasionally goes to neighbor behind me on their concrete patio outside their shed to cool off...I let her out in daytime ONLY-due to no claws
She is territorial, chases away other feral "baby kitty" tiger tabby cat not realizing she has no claws ...I sometimes worry when I see other cats come into my fenced in yard...
Neighbor next door have chihuahua dogs in yard, she walks right up to fence to them
She REFUSES to get on my bed, yet had no problem on back of couch I had, nor tables, shelving units, desk, etc-
WE have never had any accidents in the house-I so wish she would POOP outside, though, to save on kitty litter-lol
She is a very lovable at times kitty, laying in yard, wanted full attention or inside house to be combed or brushed.
When she wants to go outside, she TALKS to me aka WHINES, sometimes awakening me at break of dawn or other times when it is pouring rain, she doesn't realize such and I open door after WHINING and she comes right back in...Rather irritating sometimes
When I come home from anywhere, if she is outside, she comes running to me, or if she is inside, minute i open door she stays to see me and then goes outside...

Hi, just rescued our new baby, snow flake (named by our daughter).... just curious to the breed? We were thinking lynx point siamese, but thought I would check with you guys. He is so lovable and cuddly. He is about 4-5 months the girl told us, but doesn't know much beyond that. We are lucky that he has an awesome personality; he gets along with our boxer right off the bat. Anyways, here are the pics I have.

He looks like one in terms of markings, although those may darken as time goes on! He looks sturdier than most Siamese - he may be part Ragdoll, or another breed that shares his markings! Is he very vocal?

He is very vocal... Kept us up all night. he is was sleeping with us but kept meowing while licking me. Goes through the house meowing. Meows while lying with us. All the time, lol...
When you say sturdy, what exactly do you mean by that?

Yes, he doesn't look like a lynx point Siamese mix to me either. I have one and her name is Pearl. When I first adopted her she was almost all cream colored and then as she got older she became darker and darker and her tabby markings really came in.
Here she is as a young kitten:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v176/krazyaboutkatz/Pearl/e8bdea72.jpg (http://smg.photobucket.com/user/krazyaboutkatz/media/Pearl/e8bdea72.jpg.html)
Here she is as an adult:

She's an apple head Siamese mix meaning that she has a rounder head and not an angular head like many Siamese. I'm sure that Snow Flake will get darker as he matures. I think that Karen meant that he has more of a stocky build. Many siamese are very skinny and have tubular bodies.
I also have another Siamese mix named Summer and she has the angular head and skinny tubular body very typical of most Siamese cats.
Here's Summer:
