Hi fellow PTers! Over the past few weeks a little kitten has been coming on our porch, a real cutie we named Sunday. I'm not sure but think Sunday might be a girl. I'm guessing Sunday is 2-3 months old and is apparently living in the bushes in our front yard. Soncat and I are feeding her and watching out for her as best we can. Earlier today Soncat was helping the kid next door find a ball that went in the bushes and he saw a second older cat! This is the first time the older kitty has been seen because it never comes out. Now we're wondering if the older cat might be Sunday's mom. I'm afraid the older kitty may be sick or injured since she never comes out even for food. We've been trying to contact some local rescues or shelters to help them but with no positive results. Does anyone know of someone or some place we can contact to get help for these two sweeties? Unfortunately we can't keep them but we want them to have a second chance for a furever home full of love and caring. Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated by us as well as Sunday and her companion.

Try looking on petfinder for organizations.

http://search.petfinder.com/awo/index.cgi?action=state&state=NJ&city=&keyword=

on the top left hand side, under the word PETFINDER.COM place your curser over Adopt/Find a pet and let the drop down menu come up.

Click Search For Animal Wealfare Groups.

The use the tool to locate Shelters in NJ.

Email/call as many as you can. Sometimes help is in the most unlikely plaes.

Good luck.

This is from a forum and the two posts list MANY shelters in NJ!

New Jersey

Animal Adoption Center, Lindenwood
Burlington County Animal Alliance, Mt Holly
Jersey Animal Coalition, Inc
Little Egg Harbor Animal Rescue Tuckerton
New Jersey Rescue, Transport and Foster
Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge, Oakland

This should get you started! Good luck! :)

Can you take a towel and gently pick up the older cat? Poor baby! See if you can borrow a large cat carrier to keep her in.
