On Tuesday, i will be having a complete ultrasound, my whole abdomen and pelvic area, i am somewhat nervous, not about the procedure, had that done before, but the results and of course holding all that water in, the ole bladder ain't what it used to be lol.
I have an ongoing pain in my lower right side on and off for over five years, with no apparent reasons, so they are going to investigate that.

However my main worry is i have been having severe on and off, (mostly on)stomach problems for over five months now, despite a previous doctors visit and my being on two medications, one three times daily and an excellent low fat diet, my problems have not eased, and i have been totally miserable most of the time, i have come to the point i have had enough,i feel somewhat relieved to hopefully getting to the bottom of this once and for all, a gall bladder issue has been raised, but we will just have to wait and see for sure i guess., I will also be getting my yearly mammogram straight afterwards, always a nerve wrecking time for me (my mum is a breast cancer survivor),so please if you can spare a little thought for me, i would appreciate it very much, i believe and know the power of PT always works wonders. :) Thank you.

I wanted to add some good news though i had my repeat blood tests done again and all is good, infact my cholestrol level was great at 3.8 five months ago and has reduced even further to 3.4,but my blood pressure is 160/100, a little too high for my liking and the Dr's.

Sending you warm wishes and positive thoughts. I hope they can figure it out quickly.

My sister had gall bladder problems. She described the pain as a sharp, stabbing pain. Once it was taken out (just overnight in the hospital) she has felt fine ever since.

Thanks Lisa, yes some of my symptons are like a gall bladder issue, but others are not, so it is not conclusive until the scan i guess, that will show any stones or problems in that area, the thing is i eat a low fat diet, and usually they are caused by high fat diets, but i guess there are other factors too that can cause them,I am hoping i donot require any surgery, i am petrifyed of the thought, but i do want this to end, unfortunately one has to eat to survive and at times my stomach has the most horrible hunger pains, but i really don't want to eat, because it causes pain, although i am in discomfort whether i eat or not now.

However yesterday and today so far i am having a really good day, the pain is so minimal i really feel good, isn't that typical as soon as you get an appointment you start to feel better, maybe i am not so stressed and that is helping.

Lisa just changing the subject, i have some awesome pics of ellie and nikki, i just been having trouble posting them, i want you to see how our girls are doing so well, after all i consider you to be their furrygodmother lol. :D :)

You will be in our prayers, I promise. I need to call and schedule my annual squish-o-gram myself, they rudely sent me the notice to do so so that it arrived on my birthday, of all days, when I cannot have it done until a year after my last one, so not until late October.

Oh, Sis! I'm really sorry to hear about the proceedures that you will be going through pretty soon. I'm sending you BIG Pittsburgh thoughts and prayers that the doctors will find out what is causing your pain and discomfort. I'm facing a proceedure myself soon. It's a colonoscopy and I'm not looking forward to that one, either. I'm nervous they could find something. Big {{{{HUGS}}}} to you, Carole!

Carole, I can appreciate your apprehension. I just had to have a pelvic ultrasound myself and had the same bladder concerns you do. I actually did a *test run* drinking the required amount the day before to see if I would be able to hold it. :p I determined I would be able to and that gave me a bit of confidence in regard to that matter. Both my mother and sister had 2 cancers each and that is kind of a black cloud hanging over my head too. I too am petrified of surgery - the thought of being put to sleep sometimes seems more scary than the threat of cancer. I'm trying to talk myself into a better frame of mind but I completely understand where you are coming from.

Thank you everyone, lovely to read your encouraging and helpful posts,i really feel a sense of peace within myself, i have spent so many sleepless nights due to discomfort and worry, that at last i now feel i am going to get to the bottom of things hopefully, so it is a sense of relief, yes i am trying to drink the water ahead of time too, just to retrain that ole bladder of mine a bit in preparation for the day,she did say half way through the scan they will let me go to the toilet, thank goodness for that,so that helps a bit knowing that,i am actually feeling better at the moment and have done for the last two days,i am sure stress has been a factor with my problems here, but i am also sure that is not what is causing it either, just contributing to it.

I will keep ya all posted on how it goes, and once again it is very uplifting reading your posts, thanks from the bottom of my heart. :)

Everything went very well, my ole bladder held up,all the results were good, no gall bladder problems or stones, in fact all my organs are doing wonderful, i even got to see my old heart pumping away, which was kinda cool, never seen that before, the scan was mainly to outrule gall bladder issues and to make sure everything else was ok, so i am a pretty healthy individual, however the down side is i am no closer to finding out what has been causing my digestive problems, which would require further tests like an endoscopy, I am not sure whether i will undertake this yet, as at the moment things are much better, but if they get worse i will be doing that and prob a colonoscopy would be next on the list eek, thank you for asking Rachael, but yes all good news so far.

Oh, Sis! I'm very happy to hear that your tests wery well. I'm a little disappointed about the doctors not pinpointing the cause of your digestive problem though. If a
colonoscopy is in order, I can help you through that. Meanwhile Sis {{{{ HUGS}}}} to you to being pretty healthy!

Thank you both, David i am hoping not to have to go down that same road as you, just been thinking that is probably what they might suggest, but only if the endoscope showed nothing, unfortunately ultrasounds only show up so much, and they cannot look into the stomach, but hey at least i had some things out-ruled and my organs are in tip top shape, now that is reassuring ,along with my excellent cholestrol reading, and apart from these problems and some high blood pressure i am not in too bad shape for my age i suppose, loose a few more pounds and get this sorted and i will be much better.

How long to go for your appointment David, refresh my tired old memory please lol. :)

Carole, I'M the one with the old memory! Carole, mine was done this afternoon. Everything was okay except he removed two polyps. I was glad to hear "everything turned out good"! I was SO hungry that when we left the hospital my brother treated me to a meal at Wendy's. I'glad we're both in good shape. {{{{HUGS}}}} to you, Sis!

That is fantastic news David, i know how worried you were, those polyps were probably what was causing all your trouble, so how was it, the procedure i mean, everyone say's it isn't that bad , the prep is worse, i am really happy for you mate, did ya feel all those pters holding and squishing your hand tightly. :) :D

Carole, the prep was tough to get through, but it was worth going through that to get great results!! I can't tell you much about the procedure because because I was out like a light through most of it. However I felt many PTer hands around me (including yours) and a few sets of paws crossed for me. I'm happy that we're both pretty healthy!

Right well i am glad you were heavily sedated, i imagine it would be necessary all right for that kind of procedure, yep mate we are both in pretty good shape it seems, always nice to know, you have a good day now you hear. :)
