Isn't she a beautiful girl?

Summer is a 4yr old, 1000 lb "puppy dog." She is SUCH a sweetie and tries to follow me everywhere I go.

I haven't got to ride her much yet (need a larger girth for my english saddle, my western saddle still hasn't arrived) but I am more than ready to do so. I think she's going to be an awesome mount - very honest, wants nothing more than to please, sweet SWEET temperment, and has a BEAUTIFUL flowy trot.

Oh, Tonya, she is gorgeous! What a beauty of a girl and to think she has such a loving personality as well. Congratulations to both of you as she did quite well too. Went 2 emergency rm--MANY ppl there ~ Decided *maybe* it din't hurt as bad as I thought. Went back home. Took i.b.-profane and iced it. More I layed there, worse it felt. Finally decided to go back to emergenecy rm... 'n the rest u knowz.

Dad sez I should get into bronc ridin ~ tolz me "If ur gonna git hurt, ya might as well get paid for it!"

Tux kitties and tux horsies... nuthin' better, huh? :)

Plans? Well... ride, ride, ride right now! lol (Or rather, as soon as my saddle/saddle parts come in. :rolleyes: ) She's still pretty green - doesn't neck rain, hasn't quite picked up on the leg pressure thing yet either - goes pretty well by voice commands though. (Guess "Santa" will be delivering a ticket to "finishing school" for Christmas. lol)

I would like for her to learn both english and western. Problem is, I'm smack dab in the middle of western country, hardly anyone (seriously, I only know 3 including myself) that ride english. I'm more interested in having a companion than a show horse but I'm not ruling out the possibility of a few local shows once we both get polished up on our skills. Breeding? Again, not in the current picture but maybe one (or two) WAY WAY WAY down the road. (I know I could never give them up thus only one or two!)

I haven't ridden in a couple of years so I don't feel as confident as I once did (hence part of the reason I haven't hopped on bareback, yet). Sounds like we both have a bit of work/learning in store for us!

Then slowly "together" you can go forward and talk about what you want to accomplish - and she will let you know what she is willing to do and probably what she will not do.

My girth is still intransit with an EDD of "sometime next week." Also, I was just informed that the western saddle was damaged by UPS and immediately returned to the place I bought it from. So, another one's on it's way -which is good- but dangit I was hoping to ride this weekend!

When I lived in Greenville,S.C. we lived fairly close to a stable and I was able to take horsebackriding lessons. The teacher was from England so she only taught English. It was a lot of fun but I haven't been on a horse in many years so I've now forgotten everything. I hope that your saddles will come soon.:)

Half the seating equipment arrived Wednesday; other half is scheduled for Monday delivery.

I have rode a handful of times but she's in heat so it comes down to a battle of wits (Me 2, Her 1, Deciding Together 1).

Right now I'm at odds with the stable owner so we might be pending a move. But that's another topic that doesn't need public discussion.

Will let ya know more as the equipment comes in!
