View Full Version : The mighty mousers
Lady's Human

Well, we've been having mouse issues again, as it's that time of year. The mice are moving in from the fields to the house. :rolleyes:
I've started doing rodent control, but today I had an assistant. Lady. While I appreciate her efforts, I am bothered because I wonder what's going to be left of the house when she goes after another mouse. Earlier today, she bolted off of the couch to chase a mouse, and almost wiped out me, the kitchen table, and a couple chairs in the attempt.
Later, she and Trillian tag teamed a mouse. They had it in the corner of the kitchen, and Lady took over from Trill. She picked it up, and brought it into the livingroom. The mouse tried to get away, and she stepped on it.
Would someone please explain to Lady that CATS catch mice, not dogs?

Nope! :p Go Lady Go!!!!
Goof is a mouser if we let her have her way...................I think she learned it from the cats though ;)

Awwww!! Lady, tell Dad you're really a valuable resource and could be in high demand in many households.
p.s. Please try not to destroy Dad or any of the furniture please. ;)

:(
I fear the local Mouses United Chapter read the Obit for Boots, da Kat :( ...
since his demise, the Mouse sightings have increased according to the Rodent Control Backup Team.
"Bipp & Bopp" used to act as Backup for The Great Tux Hunter, aka Boots ...
but between the three of 'em the Meese had nothing to worry about!
The Keystone Cops had nothing on The Hunters ... ONE lil Mouse could totally confuse :confused:
all three of 'em with one dash through the Ranch ... if they weren't all tripping & falling over each other -
the Mouse would raun all three of 'em into the SAME door! :rolleyes:
More than once The Chase began with Mousey appearing from behind the TV;
LEAPING over da Kat (sleeping on the fireplace hearth); dashing down the hall; and into the baffroom.
Da KAT would come to about the time Mr. Mouse started down the hall - a good 10 foot head start.
KAT dashed the hall flat out ... as da Mouse fled into the baffroom Klozit by slipping under the door ...
**KE-Rash** as da Kat discovered he didn't FIT under the door ...
**THUUMP** ~~~ **BUMMP** --- as the Doggy Backups slammed into the same door ...
All three would lay on the floor, noses pressed to the lil gap under the door -
and "stake out" the holed up Mouse for a hour or so, then give up.
Mr. Mouse would help himself to the Kat Buffet on the baffroom vanity (evidenced by the lil "ring of mouse pooh' often noted on the vanity ringing the Kat's Bowl :mad: )
before venturing back up the hallway. If da Kat wasn't *snoring* loudly enough -
Mouse returned via the upper route - bookcase > mantle > bookcase > TV cabinet.
If Kat was really sawin logs ... Mr. Mouse used the direct path - across the room, over the Kat,
and *Zipppp* behind the TV.
The "Mouse Deal" called for only limited excursions UPstairs - the occasional snack at the Kat Buffet;
a few *sprints* wiffa Kat to keep everyone in good shape; the occasional "nap" behind the warm TV;
but NO "overnights" in the Hooman's living space - Meese lived in the garage!
I need to post The "Deal" again ... the Meese need a reminder.
Wonder if we could find a Part-Tyme Kat?
Couple hours a night otta do it ...
:p

LOL cute story.... but I hate to break it to ya.... cats aren't mousers either. Well at least the cat WE got for that purpose many years ago wasn't :D We lived near a big field and had a big mouse problem. We were given a barn cat as a gift from one of our boarders. We thought "perfect, she can catch the mice" No such luck. She caught everything BUT mice. Rabbits, squirrels, birds.... you name it. but not ONE mouse EVER. lol darn cats.
We don't have any mice here at this house but we do have BUGS and Beezer is my bug slayer.
but hey.... Lady caught one and did away with it.... she did a good job :D who cares if the house is a little.... um.... out of sorts :D haha. Good luck with that ;)

Hee hee - you didn't want intact kitchen furniture, anyway, right? Lady at full tilt could wipe out just about any human going! She's Lab/Dalmatian and mostly muscle under that sleek coat!

LOL...I think my cats and dogs have it mixed up too. I can't even count how many mice the dogs have killed, I've only ever seen the cats play with them.

Well at least it seems like she gets the job done. Lady just wants to prove that anything a cat can do she can do better. Hope you get rid of the mice!
