Thank you, Candace! You would not believe how sweet these two are! Panda especially will stand on hind legs and reach up and chirp for you to pick him up so he can hug your neck and give you TONS of nose and ear kisses!!! He's a big teddy bear for sure! LOL!

Thanks for the help I am working on pictures now. And I have a couple of Maine Coons in their summer PJ's now and some of them keep it year round. What a cute picture of a furry tummy. And that is where the fur is suppose to be long and around the neck area. If you read the breed standards it states meduim to long, short at the top working down to long in the tummy. He has a great Mac Pattern also. WOW! Nice body on him also.

Everyone's cats sure are gorgeous.:) I have 3 long haired cats so I'll post them below.
Here's Storm. He started out with shorter fur but then as he aged it became longer and fluffier. It's also very soft and silky so he never gets matted. He'll be 12 years old in Jan.

Sky turned 5 in June and when I adopted him he had been shaved because his fur was badly matted. I've been told that he's a Siamese/Norwegian Forest Cat Mix. He hasn't matted at all since I've owned him. He also acts more like a dog than a cat.
Here he is at his fluffiest.

This is Ziggy Stardust. She's turned 1 in June and she's become a very large fluffy girl. She's already 13lbs. She has such a tiny meow and is a real sweetheart.
Look at that tail.

I love the odd eyed brown tabby and white. I have been going to cat shows for over 10 years and have never seen a tabby that had gold and blue eyes. All three are very beautiful. And the butt shot made me laugh! What a great pictures. Thanks for sharing them.

Your Storm looks SO much like my Smudge (who turns 12 in December!) I haven't photographed him in a while because his face is all scratched up from itchy allergy lesions, poor baby! But he's finally rediscovered the joys of canned food (with his allergy medicine mixed in) so he'll be mugging for the lens again in a little while.

Oh,yes when you posted a picture of him I thought that they could be twins. He also gets very itchy if he eats food that has a lot of fish in it. He loves food with fish but it doesn't love him. He'll start loosing the fur on his ears and then on part of his face. He's on a grain free diet that has fish in it but I also try to buy some nonfish wet food to mix in with it so he won't become too itchy.

Thanks. Yes, Ziggy Stardust is a very unique looking cat. She and her brother, who is an orange and white short haired cat, were dumped at a feral park.:( I adopted her from K & L who is another PT'er and she and her husband live in Arizona. They ended up keeping Ziggy's brother and his name is Chowder.

It took a while to get it done but finally did it. With changing jobs and the cats not much time to play. And now I have a new litter that was born Sept. 25th :D my time is even less. Here is a picture of the new litter. There is 4 red and white males and one female a blue tortie and white.

If I ever got a cat, I think I would like a Maine Coon. But I don't know - I've never had a kitty, but plan to get one once I'm out on my own.
I've never had one before, though, so I don't know what breed would best suite my lifestyle.

I'm very thrilled that my first post on here is going to be about my Rudy! She just turned 14 at some point this month. She's at least part Maine Coon, but she's always been rather small for one, around 7-9 pounds. She's extremely vocal, she never "meows"- it's either a squeak or a howl. She absolutely loves to be brushed, and she's made it her hobby to bother anyone in the house to brush her at any time of day, including the middle of the night!

Hi, I'm kind of late in discovering this post and replying to it but here's my Maine Coon. His name is Tiger and he is about 11 years old. I found him living as a stray in a snowbank in Quebec, Canada. He was literallly living under a pinetree! One night he ran into a video store across from his pine tree (I guess to try and get warm) and that's when I decided to take him home. I canvassed the neighborhood to make sure I wasn't taking someones cat and everyone said "oh ya, that's one of the cats that live under that tree" He was about 10 months at the time. He is an awesome cat and I think so majestic. When he runs he reminds me of a lion running in a field with his mane blowing to one side! LOL
I included a pic of his paw because I'm amazed at how big they are. He's a very sweet cat but I wouldn't want to get on his bad side. He can be ferocious, but with good reason usually (like another cat trying to overthrow his position as 'king' of the household which they try from time to time). :)

I don't know if this is a surefire way of determining if he is a MC, but does he make a chirpy sound instead of a meow per se? That's a MC trait, in general.

That is for sure, Richard. Sure do miss my monstrous Maine Coon, Billy Bob, who died in 2001 but is not forgotten. Now I have a Maine Coon mix. She has all the characteristics but not the size. But I can lift her whereas it was difficult lifting him. Yet he was so bright and even fetched as some Maine Coons do. I had one other one too. I think they actually talk. Well, at least they talked to me ;) :)

What a beautiful MCC! Looks much like my first one who died in 98..Kipper.
The Maine Coon cats photos on this thread are truly awesome!
Love em! Here's my Gusty (now gone) with a friend Christmas 2004.
We have had Chessie since he was a kitten ( born in a barn ). Just a little gray fluf ball. he is now 7 years old and a momas boy. Bart and ET came to us on Feb 9, 08. bothe are about 5 years old Bart at 21 lbs I call my big Teddy bear and is now ansering to Bear. he just loves to be brushed and loved. ET is about 12 lbs. and she is very voical. is any thing move with in 3 feet of her you will at lest get a low growel or hiss. She loves to be groomed, but if you slow down or stop you will get told off. She does like to sit on my lap and watch tv. For the most part they get along great with the rest of the CREW. Both are always good for a head but.

Storm reminds me a great deal of Einstein! (The cat, not the human! :))
When Steinie was a baby, the fur on his head stuck straight out all over the place, which reminded me of a famous photo of Albert Einstein -- and you get it.
This guy is just a very pretty "mutt", I think. My vet, impressed by his beautiful coloring (and amused by his very, shall we say, ample size), said, "There must be a Russian Blue in him somewhere -- maybe literally!"
Regardless of his less than dainty waistline, Einstein is about the sweetest guy around!

Wow!!! He looks like he could be Storm's twin.:) Storm is also a very large cat and he weighs about 14-14.5lbs now. He's my oldest senior cat and is now almost 12 1/2 years old. He's the first cat that I owned on my own and he started my cat family.:) His fur is also very fine and thin and is as soft as a rabbits.:) He's also a very smart cat but I'm biased.;)

Storm reminds me of my Fifi (RB). http://www.charleskincaid.com/ourcats.html
Lamoni (RB) is supposed to be the Maine mix. http://www.charleskincaid.com/cats.html
One of my friends had his cat go to the RB after 18 years today. Got me to thinking of my two. That got me to thinking of all you folks here
