This is my grandparents spoiled dog Roxey. She came to their door as a very young puppy hungry and tired. They lived out in the boonies (deep woods) and was surprised to see her. They had no neighbors for miles. They took her in and loved her unconditionally. She is now 5 and it is still an unsolved mystery as to what breed or breeds she may be. Any ideas? She weighs about 80 pounds and stands on all fours to be almost waist high. And she sheds unmercifully, they have to keep her shaved down. She could shed herself another dog.

She's a Roxy dog! She's surely a Shepherd mix, and she looks like she could be Kayann's dog Simba's cousin, doesn't she?

Wow, as many times as I have seen beautiful Simba's picture, I did not notice the huge resemblance until you mentioned it.

The resemblance is there! Yes, I would say a Shepherd mix of some sort. :)

I found another picture of Roxey and this shows how big she is. She is a heavier dog. She was very over weight here. My papa was diagnosed with cancer and fought a hard battle before dying this past April. He stayed so sick and she would not leave his side. He never wanted to eat himself so he just fed her. It gave him comfort to make Roxey happy by feeding her, so we never mentioned that she was getting so fat. She has lost about 20 pounds since then and looks better. She is still a big dog without all the weight. Is this a better picture to determine the breed of dog? I do agree that she has some German Shepard in her. I cannot even begin to describe the happiness and comfort that she gave my papa in his life. She is an angel with invisible wings.

I would personally say that she is Shepard/Lab mix. Maybe might have some rotti in her!! I say that because one of the girls I work with has a Rotti/Lab/Shepard mix and looks almost exactly the same. The color is identical and the shape/eyes. The only thing different is her dog is a chub.
Very much a sweetheart though, great pic.
:p :) :D
