Last night Denver seemed tired and not wanting to eat. I had a feeling he was saying goodbye. This afternoon, when I returned from work, he was in his litter box, fast asleep but I just knew. Yes, he had gone. Cinnamon the other bunny has been ignoring him for weeks now, as I think she knew he was not well.
I tried my best to treat him for his problem. No one ever really figured out why he was so ill. He had lots of xrays, lab tests, pills, nebulizer - you name it. I finally decided that I would let him decide when it was time.
I will miss his furry self. He was a rescue bunny - had a good life - well, as good as you can get living on a porch with a little fuzzy friend.
I am not sure if Cinnamon will really miss him. They were very food jealous and often snagged their food/treat and ran so the other would not get it.
Rest in peace sweet Denver. I am glad you are no longer "trying to breathe".........
Love always, Sas and her campers
Can't stop crying........

My heart sunk when I saw this post Sally Ann and I too can't stop the tears rolling down my cheeks.
You fought long and hard to make Denver's breathing easier and I'm sure he was very grateful for that.
Think of him now playing hard at RB....my dearest Chloe will look after him for you xxx

Sallyanne I am so sorry. Denver had a very good life and I knew he was not well when I met him in June- but he seemed happy to me.
I am so sorry for you to have to deal with two passings in such a short time.
Sending hugs over the ocean- wish I could be closer.
On a lighter note: If Cinnamon needs a friend she can still turn to Juni ;)

Rest in peace, sweet bunny boy. The fields at the Rainbow Bridge are full of parsley and clover and all wonderful things.
Sas, you'll be in our prayers. And if anyone in your life says "It was 'just a rabbit,'" feel free to *thump* them in the head from Miss Hoppy and I.

I am so glad Denver is not suffering anymore. I was very near calling the vet to request a final appointment, but decided he had lived so far, trying to breathe, that for me to end it for him would be too soon. He didn't seem as though he was in pain, just couldn't get his one nose passage to work correctly. Nothing ever showed on his xrays. It was a real mystery. He was quite thin when he left for the bridge. He had stopped grooming himself and had lots of drool down the front of his furry body. All the signs of failure. He is gone to a happier place now. RIP Denver boy.
Cinnamon is fine. She was happy before Denver showed up and didn't take to him very quickly. Actually Cinnamon and Denver took one full year to learn to like and tolerate one another! They had a few good years sitting next to each other and grooming the other..........as I said earlier, they hated having to share.
Another camper moves to the bridge.

I'm so sorry for your loss. That bunny boy sure did put his pawprint on our hearts here at PT. I am so sorry for your loss, but I'm so happy for Denver that he found you, got rescued, and lived out his life in bunny paradise. Rest in peace, sweet Denver.

I'm so sorry to hear about Denver... you've been going through a lot up there, so I hope some things get better, and there aren't many other health issues to worry about for a long time.
Play in the clover over the bridge, dear Denver.... Big thoughts and prayers going out to you and your mom.

I'm so sorry to read this. We are struggling with our Bunny Button trying to make him survive. We've had him to the vet 3 times now but he just seems to be declining.
RIP sweet Denver.
