View Full Version : #228 - Thursdays is OPEN!
I really need Thursdays today.
My tree is being removed so forgive the tears in my eyes.
Could I please have a coffee and Bailey's? It is going to be a long day.

Here, Gini, I brought another case of Bailey's to go with the coffee. We'll hold your hands while your tree goes over the bridge.
It's so hot and smoky here in San Francisco it's eerie. It feels like earthquake weather as the air is so still and such a strange color.
The Lick Fire that's burning in Santa Clara is where I drove through Sunday, returning from my trip to Monterey. If I'd stayed another day, the drive home would be been more "adventurous." I know the Big Guy is looking out for me.
I'm having ice cream for breakfast!

I've had LES all morning....I can only imagine how you feel Gini. :( :( I see there is plenty of Baileys here so no need to make my own. Come and sit down on the couch Gini and tell us stories about the tree. What is your fondest memory???

I'd like a cherry limeade please!!!
Gini, just think of all the happy Rainbow bridge birds sitting in your tree's branches and the rb kitties playing on it, and the shade it will give to all the rb critters. AND it will be strong and healthy again!!! :)

I just saw MOFFs similar comment under your other tree thread Gini and the idea really did make me smile. Very apropro MOFF. My tummy's upset today so think I'll stick to some herb tea. You're on your own in the kitchen I guess.. I just want to nibble on a biscuit

*raises glass of Bailey's*
Here's to Gini's tree - it's shade and comfort will be sorely missed but the memories will live on.
I'm glad I got to enjoy your tree during my visits to your place.
**hugs**
I really don't want to be a drama queen here - but my tree is gone.
It took six men 6 1/2 hours to chop it down - remove the stump - and clean up after themselves.
My yard at least to me looks "nude"...................the sun is blazing on everything including my office.
Yesterday I measured the trunk of the tree and it was 8 feet around. If two of me tried to hug the tree - we could barely have wrapped our arms around it and touched fingers.
Connie, what a beautiful thought - my tree has crossed over the Bridge and all of my pets who loved it too are now once again playing in it and under it.
Patches (R/B) loved this tree - and she could climb it in a flash and would jump from branch to branch showing off her dexterity. That is one of my favorite memories - she could back down the trunk just as rapidly as she climbed it. Even though my heart was in my throat every time she did this.
My other favorite memory of my tree - well, I will have to post the picture for you. In the fall I would rake leaves and the tree would just laugh - shake itself a little - and my yard would be covered in beautiful orange leaves once again.
A 30 year love affair has ended - but life goes on - change must be accepted.
Skip the coffee - and thanks everyone for the Bailey's!!

Well now I'm more sure than ever that your tree is at the rainbow bridge. Can you think of anything the rb would need more than a laughing tree for our babies to play in and under? ;)

Let's get some late Sunday night service going!
Sorry guys,
I have been busy, sorry about your tree, Gini.
Let me just put out the bottles and start a pot of coffee...the weather is starting to cool down so hot drinks are in order.
DONE!

awww - so sorry about your tree Gini. I remember it well at PT BBQ #3 (was it three?) - when you had little flags of all of the states or countries of the attendees circling the tree.
I also remember how well it shaded your back yard.
Hey - in the happy news department, at least I have a new job now - I started a couple of weeks ago. I want to continue to make a good first impression so I'll probably not post from work for the time being.
Happy belated Thursdays to everyone else. :D
