Edwina's Secretary

The thread about where is your cat allowed made me think of Edwina's behavior last night.

A friend had asked me if I would listen to the brother of her former nanny give me a sales pitch about kitchen knives

We were seated at the dining room table. For reasons too complicated to explain his girlfriend was also there. He was demonstrating his knives.

Edwina has a prancing walk she saves for special occasions. She stood in the dining room doorway -- "Your attention please!" Then pranced into the room, under the table and around the legs of the knife salesman and his girlfriend. Once they acknowledged her with lots of "ohs and ahs" she galloped out of the room...only to return with a prance 30 seconds later. She checked inside his sales case as she made three or four rounds. Doorway...prance....leg wrap...gallop.

Needless to say...I bought some knives....

Sara,
Maybe Edwina needs to go to work for the salesman. She sounds like a perfect enticement to "buy". :D

LOL!!!! Are you sure the salesman didn't have a deal worked out with Edwina. He may have slipped her a treat if you bought some knives. So cute!! I can just see it!:D

Edwina is such a character. There is no way you could have gotten away without buying some knives after that little show. :) I would check her bank account though. ;) :D

Perhaps Edwina is makin' a deal w/ the squirrels--she supplies sharper knifes to slice the fleur-du-jour and in return, receives more turkey!

Hostess with the mostest is an understatement. What a cutie pie you are Edwina!

(are the knives Cutco? all of their products are (expensive) but well worth it.)

Maybe you are all correct...Edwina just tries to ACT like a dim bulb but is really very conniving -- colluding with squirrels, knife salesmen -- all for the sake of turkey! Probably honed her scamming skills when she was a stray....

And yes Gini...the knives are Cutco $$$. Hope they are worth it. I had told my husband all I wanted for my birthday was good knives. Wait a minute ...so why did I buy them instead of him?????

Speaking of sassy...this morning I shooed her off one end of the sofa on the screen porch...time to go in. She "ne alp, ne alp" and jump back up on the other end and curled into a tight ball!

I bet you are right about that, that she honed her skills as a stray.hehe. I can equally imagine a cat standing on hind legs behind a cardboard box, with three bent cards in front of her!lol!

;) :D

AAAhhhh yes....Cutco knives. I have a small set as well. I hope the salesman was wearing "Edwina-colored clothing" as I am sure he went home with remembrances of her due to the swirling around his legs that she was doing. Under the circumstances, I am sure he earned quite enough to amply pay for his dry cleaning. Small note here....those things are really sharp! Be careful when cutting up her turkey! :)

The reason I asked if they are Cutco - is that last year I was hit upon by a college student selling Cutco to make money. I really didn't need knives, because I have a very good set of Henkel.

So I went for the garden tools. I bought the cutters and the trowel. They are absolutely the best I have ever owned.
My friends did buy the knives - and yes, be careful......they are sharp.

Sara,

Are you SURE Edwina wasn't auditioning for Cutco's spokeskitty?? Sounds to me like she's one smart little girl. She is adorable! (I too, am a secret fan of Edwina. Especially seeing her in her chapeau. How did you EVER get her to keep it on long enough to pose for the pictures??)

:D Can anyone here direct me to the next meeting of "Edwina lovers anonymous?" I need to go, too! Isn't it sad that her heart belongs to ... Mommy 'n Daddy 'n Marius, only, in some order?

Do you suppose Edwina is practising to be a "Barker Beauty" on The Price Is Right?

Hmmm.... I think she could definetly pull off the look....

Oh, oh! And look at this!
Price Launches Model Search (http://www.cbs.com/daytime/price/up_next.shtml)
The Price Is Right is undertaking a talent search to select models for the coming season, which resumes taping on August 19.

Beauteous Edwina... a dim little light bulb or a talented (slightly manipulative, "will-work-for-turkey") career oriented purr-son?

Edwina and I discussed her applying for model on Price is Right. She doesn't understand why she would have to "apply"! She says...if she wants it doesn't she just get it???

I told her I haven't seen Price since probably high school. She said..."The had television when you were in high school mama??"

Very funny...

She wants to know if she will have to follow direction or just if she wants to do so?....can she nap at her leisure? does Bob Barker give out Sara Lee Smoked Turkey Breast?

Peanut's agent got the following answers to Edwina's questions: She only has to do what she wants to do because they couldn't get her to do anything other than that, could they? ;) Napping at her leisure will be written right into her contract so there won't be a problem. If Edwina wants Sara Lee Smoked Turkey, then Bob will be sure to have some on hand. (Peanut says she prefers SL Honey Roast Turkey herself, but if Edwina wants smoked, then Edwina gets smoked. And Peanut also says she has a very good agent and she is more than happy to share with Edwina...the agent that is, not the turkey. ;) ) :D

I'm also a fan of Edwina. When she wants something she sure knows how to get it. I also love all the cute hats that she lets you put on her. What a cute and funny story. I wonder what kind of mischief she'll get into next. I guess we'll have to stay tuned to Edwina t.v. to find out. :)
