My poor lil lexie, yesterday when i got up she looked fine, i did not notice anything wrong with her eye, she went outside for a few mins and came back in, and i noticed it was weeping, it has been continually weeping, and i have be doing the saline solution treatment and wiping it continuously, i was not sure to what to think, but am wondering if she has hurt it and run into something, today i decided to book her into the vet as when i wiped it there was blood, that was scarey, yesterday there was no sign of it,so i am a little nervous to find out what has happened, any ideas.

wish Lexie and i good luck tomorrow please, my mothers cat also has a sore eye, and has an ulcer, she is being treated and hopefully won't need surgery, she is coming up 13, so prayers and good thought for Tessa and Lexie , would be much appreciated, thanks.

Prayers for both Tessa and Lexie!

I hope some little thing got in Lexie's eye that the vet can see with magnification - and get the nasty bit out!

Hugs to the furbabies. :)

Me too, after doing some reading on the internet, i am wondering if she has an corneal ulcer too maybe, or whether it is just beginning ,due to the traumau in the eye she has suffered, she may have got a scratch on her eye or run into a rose bush or something, still need to get her to the vet and have it checked.,will let you know when i know what it is.,Thanks for your concern.

My Daisy will be watching this thread carefully. She has the chlamydia virus and when it flares up, she gets eye problems. Every three months or so she needs eye drops for weepy eyes and sometimes antibiotics. She also once needed an operation because her eyelids were turning in and the eyelashes were lying on the eyeball, causing irritation and ulcers.

Daisy will be keeping her little paws crossed for Lexie. Please let us know how it goes.

Hopefully, it's something simple that can be treated w/no problems. My Yodie had eye problems several months ago and it took a while to clear up. Turns out she had a corneal ulcer. How that happened, I do not know. Prayers going out to Lexie.....

good news, i took lexie at the right time, it is only a scratch and the rest of her eye looks fine, she has ointment three times daily, then twice for five days, had i left it later, it possibly could have turned into an ulcer, so we assume she either got scratched by another cat or walked into a branch or something, it has had two applications and is looking better already, thanks for your concern and thank you miaows from princess lexie.

Tessa is progressing along, only time will tell, she will be checked on monday to see how well she is doing, fingers and paws crossed she does not need surgery, we don't want an old cat to have to go through that,so here's hoping the antibots and cream work for her.

Awe... missed this! Hope she is doing better today! My one boy, Honeybun, forever has goopy eyes. Not sure if it's the FIV thing and that he just has more discharge or what. The vet wasn't concerned, but I clean his eyes at least once a day.

Lexie is awesome at getting her eye treatment, infact she is a very easy cat to medicate, always has been, i love that about her, she never ever has weepy eyes normally, and so far there is some improvement, but it is still quite weepy, i was hoping for more improvement really, will keep ya all posted, just have to wait and see on monday regarding Tessa.

I'm so glad Lexie is doing better and her eye is healing :)

Eve has sensitive eyes and from time to time they become irritated and weepy. Last summer the vet gave me some antibiotic drops called Maxitrol. These drops have been amazing. As soon as I notice another irritation in one of her eyes, I put a drop of Maxitrol in and usually within a day the eye has cleared and she's fine :D She doesn't like it very much but seems to understand that it makes her feel better and tolerates my messing with her eye ;)

I'm happy to hear that Lexie has just a little scratch and with the medication will have a full recovery. :)
