Hello everyone I need help.
I have a 9 ½ year old female pit-bull. About 3 weeks ago she had her food and vomit right after. This went on for the next 3 days. I took her to her vet. He did blood work and took x-rays everything came back fine. He told me we should do an ultrasound to make sure we didn’t miss anything. I had to wait few days to have this test done. Few days later my dog didn’t even move anymore so I took her to the animal medical hospital. There they did x-rays, ultrasound, blood and urine work everything was just fine. They gave me i/d food and told me to give her Famotidine 10mg 1 table a day. Told me to keep her on this food for the next 3 days and to star mixing her food or chicken and feed her about 2 table spoons every 2 hours.
She was eating this food but she would still get attacks like she’s about to vomit but in the end she would keep it in. Some days she had 1 can some days only ½. Few days later she fell on my bed. She fell on her back legs. She started limping the next day, I was thinking it would get better but it didn’t and plus since she wasn’t eating well that didn’t help her much. Few days later I took her back to the animal medical hospital for x-rays they told me she has arthritis in both her hips and since she lost 20 pounds it put much stress on the hip. The doctor told she much eat a lot more and I have to give her pain meds. She gave me Tramadol 50mg she said my dog can have up to 4 tables per day.
She started eating a bit better but since I was giving her 2-3 tablets she was sleeping most of the time and had a really hard time eating so I cut it down to only 1 tablet at night time to help her sleep. She’s eat better now we are up to 1 ½-2 can per day and some chicken. She still gets mood and need help eating. Her leg is not getting any better it’s been almost a week since the x-rays.
I’m just wondering if there is anything else I can do for her. Maybe get her supplements or give her milk or something else.
Thank you very much,
Anna
