I was in Woodstock for a few days, and had the good fortune to revisit my favorite shoe store, Pegasus Shoes. They now also have their store online, and they will ship your orders for FREE!! Depending on what types of shoes you buy, and how many, shipping can really add up.

Pegasus Shoes sells all your typical environmentally friendly, and just good for you shoes like Birkies, Wolkys, Naot, Merrell, Keen, Dansko, Ariat, Practik, J-41, Ecco and Earth Shoes to name a few. They are not exactly cheap, but if you want your shoes to last and you want them made well, and you want to know where and how they are made (not in a sweatshop), you might want to check out some of these earth friendly shoes. Great selections! And if you go up in person, it is a small store, but they are so friendly.

Plus it's by some great eating places, like The Oriole 9, where I had marinated roasted chicken on italian peasant bread with roasted red peppers, fresh mozzarella, and a creamy basil dressing and tiny fresh mushrooms on top. OMG... It was the most magnificent sandwich that I had ever eaten. Everything is organic and made fresh. The French Apple Pie looked out of this world, and the strawberry mint lemonade was very refreshing! YUMMM!!!

So if you are interested in visiting Woodstock, and I really hope you'd like to because it is a wonderful place. So very open minded and free. Lots of music and song... some very off key and you want to donate so he stops singing on the sidewalk, but oh well... it's the cultural experience!

Here is for the Village of Woodstock itself. It's so nice there. I don't think it's wild at all, but peaceful and relaxing.

Did see some funny bumperstickers.... If you lived in Woodstock, you'd be OM now. Woodstock... it's a state of mind. Just because you wander doesn't mean you're lost. (I love that one!)

Maybe one day I'l move up there. I'd love to just be able to sit, relax and be happy with getting by and not being part of corporate America. Sigh... oh to be in a simpler life some times!

PS... Only saw THREE dogs the entire stay there!!! A big gorgeous rottie, and two dogs that were with a touristy family. That's it! I did see a cat rolling in the dust in the neighbor's drive way, but nothing more. I was surprised.
