My beautiful boy, Sparks has gone. After returning home to Israel after several years he was cruelly poisoned. I found his body close to the house and he looked like he suffered

He was my best friend for 10 years, he travelled the world with me - all over the world. But the bitter irony of his return home only a few weeks ago.

He was loveable yet neurotic. Funny and excellent natured. A real Egyptian-style prince. Beautiful, elegant, black.

I sometimes thought about this day with dread. It has come and taken away my little friend.

I want to post a photo of him but it doesn't seem possible.

How sad, it's bad enough losing them from natural causes or illness.

I got up at sunrise yesterday and took his body to be buried near my house. It was horrific as he died through poision and was obviously in terrible pain. The heat had already started to dcompose his beautiful body. I couldn't face work so didn't go.

My best friend has gone.

I spent the day sobbing and reading other loss stories from various sites (not sure if that was a good thing to do). I have started a powerpoint presentation that will record his life through text and pictures.

I am so sorry that you have lost your precious Sparks in such terrible circumstances. I think it is a wonderful idea to get all your photos together into a presentation about his life. The ones you are posted are beautiful.

Thank you all, again. It's good to feel the support. It's hard working with people when this mourning is taking place. How does one explain to those who simply see these friends as "cats", "animals"?

I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved Sparks. He was a beautiful boy. It is so very hard to lose one. I lost my boy of sixteen and a half years in March due to the pet food recall. I once read that when your heart is hurting, filling it with happy memories can help you find your smile. I hope that as time passes the happy memories you have of your "Prince" will help you to once again smile.

Sparks was absolutely majestic! Such a handsome, dignified cat. No matter how long we have our beloved animals, it's never long enough. I'm so sorry that he's now at the RB but try to remember that he is suffering no more. He's waiting for the day when you will be reunited and will show you the way when you get to the other side. Sparks is at peace and you will find yours, too, once again. Life has changed for you and Sparks but it will get better. He will comfort you in your quiet hour and will travel w/you in memory just as he always did. Rest in peace, handsome Sparks. A candle burns for you both.

Sparks is such a Hadsome Cat and its a tragedy that the war against stray Cats has taken Sparks away from you.
Sparks as a world traveler will be invaluable to the Pet Angel Army where he will be a great aid in determining what part of the World to visit next.
And he misses you so much and wants you to know taht he is going to have a travel itinerary for you that will amaze you, when you are together once more.

I am so sorry to hear about Sparks. I hope that at least when he passed it was quickly. It's terrible that people would be so cruel as to poison a harmless animal. Hopefully you will also be able to find out who did so and have charges pressed or something. Not sure of the recourse you have in Egypt. My friend grew up there and he said many cats and dogs are not treated as well as they are here in the US. I hope things will change for the better for them.

Play hard at the Bridge, Sparks. Know that your life did not end in vain, and your owner will no doubt do what she can to make sure who ever did harm you will be punished.

I am so sorry for Sparks who looked like an Egyptian prince to me.
I know it's only a legend- but it helps to see our beloved kitties at rainbow bridge, playing and healthy again- waiting for us to cross the bridge.

I am so sorry for your loss. I recently lost 2 of my cats, and it has been extremely difficult. Take comfort knowing that he is now @ the the RB. My angels will be there to greet him and show him around. You will get to see him again one day, but until then, he will watch over you!!

I am very sorry about Sparks. He was very beautiful. At least he had a nice life with you while he was here--traveling the world and stuff. I'm sure he got to do alot of stuff most cats never get a chance to do.
