Iris is settling in very nicely. She has pretty much taken over the house! We were worried because we found her outside that she might be a door darter, but she hasn't even asked to go out once. We brought her to the backyard the other day and she seemed to enjoy sniffing the grass.

Hoping I put wet food in her bowl:

My poor attempt at taking a picture of her face without glowing eyes:

I love this picture!

I've got an itch, Meowmie! Get the camera out of my face!

She's beautiful....it's funny how the ones that have spent a lot of time outside are quite content to just stay inside.

What a treat to peel into Cat General this morning and see one of my grandkitties!! She really is a pretty one isn't she? Such a sweet face.
I had to stop and stare - thinking back to how she came to live in Nebraska.

a bit of background.....

I pretty much summarized her story from these threads...
stray kitty in yard... (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?t=129034&highlight=iris)
found out where she came from! (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?t=130342&highlight=iris)
We only know bits and peices. Hubby and I returned to Ohio from Texas (where daughter sirrahsim had her newest bay) and were greeted by this pretty kitty who continued to live in our garden for several weeks. We had no idea where she came from but it seemed she was there to stay - would come when called and was so sweet and friendly. Sirrahved and family came for a vist juts days before they were moving out to Nebraska. Iris came out to greet them and turned on the charm. We went door to door in the neighborhood, asking everyone if they had any idea who she might belong to. Not a clue! Well sirrahved and our son decided this kitty would go *poof* and so she did. They took her home with them to meet her new furry and feathered siblings and made the trek to Nebraska with them. Devon (sirrahved) was able to track down a phone number after researching the microchip that Iris has. She even called the people and learned that they did not want her. Well it was their loss because she is a sweetheart!! She is also quite smart to show up in the yard of a family who would have a visitor who would take her to ger NEW HOME :D

What a sweet little girl! Heck if I were a cat forced to previously live outside, I wouldn't want anything to do with the outdoors again!!

Tubster still likes to go outside, he uses the Found Cat Hotel as such only coming in to eat and rest. I am just hoping that one day he will be a bit older and not want the stress of being outdoors. He must realize by now that he and the Lady Cats will no longer be romantic.

My experience has been that the ones inside most often want out, and the ones outside always want in  . I'm so happy for the both of you that she enjoys her new surroundings!

I remember the story, and the lovely Miss Iris. So happy to hear she's loving life in Nebraska.
