Thumper's appetite has really picked up in last couple days.
Her meals are divided into 4 equal squares (wet/dry mixed together).
On most weeks on a good day we get all 4 squares eaten at a meal.
I divide the wet can into 4 equal parts (4 oz size) I take a section and mix 1 tablespoon of dry mixture which makes 4 equal squares.
In a days times..... She has been eating 3/4 of a 4 oz can and 1/3 cup of dry mixture (looks like flour after I grind it from kibble) for almost 2 months.
Well Today, she doubled her square intake (6 sqs) for breakfast and ( 8sqs) for lunch meals!!!!!!!!! by dinner time she was stuffed from the day and only could eat 3 squares. :)
Her wet food intake was 1 (4 oz can)
Her dry food intake was 2/3 cups of dry
ALL IN ONE DAY :) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Will she keep this up?????????????? Stay tuned :) :)
Side note:
I have to hand feed her. I help her eat, now today she started llicking it off my bare hand like she was using a bowl. I dont use a syringe just my hand.

Took her to local vet's office to weigh her (not her regular vet)............
She weighed 17 lbs May 15th.
She weighed 12.7 lbs June 15th (I was told to feed her more dry because wet food doesnt have enough calories), So I started mixing powdered dry with wet food.
She weighed 9.7 lbs today (July 26th)
I'm trying Nutral Cal (just gave her some, she liked it) a couple times a day. It's high in calories.
I'm feeding her 3 times a day (averages out to every 5-6 hours). Going to 4x a day is just not feasable and have a regular life. As it is now I feed her morning, mid afternoon, mid evening.
It figures her regular vet only works 1/2 days on Thursdays (they used to not be open at all), I decided to take her over to weigh at 4 p.m. LOL
I will call them tomorrow.
Prayers are needed :(

I hate to hear that, lets hope it is nothing to worry about. Maybe she needs a few more days to start gaining?

DRAT! Not such good news after all. :(
The nutrical will help. And maybe the vet will have you use canned a/d or other high calorie prescription food.
Prayers for dear Thumper.

Hmmm, my Creamsicle has lost more weight, too, although she's eating normally also. Maybe she and Thumper have joined a weight loss program for cats and didn't tell us. :p Gotta watch those girlish figures, y'know.

Nutri-cal is 30 calories per teaspoon.
I can give 3 tsp per 10 lbs of body weight a day.

We were able to get Thumper in to our regular vet.
They took enough blood to run a full panel on her (checking liver, kidneys etc). We get results tomorrow.
He suspects an over active thyroid problem, thus medication would solve the problem.
She is on Prescription A/D and inhaled what I gave her this morning.
The true test will be later today, up until 11:30 a.m. she hadnt eaten since 8:30 p.m. last night. Only started to eat when I called the vet's office and they said come in within 40 minutes (it takes 20 mins to get there).

Sounds like Thumper is still training her meowmy! ;)
Glad she is eating...and a high thyroid can be dealt with. Hope all works out!

Her evening meal at 6 p.m.
I divide up the can into 1/4 portions.
Mix 1 Tablespoon of dry into wet mixture.
Make 4 equal squares for portion eating.
Inhaled 3 sqs within 15 minutes, slowed down on the 4th one and finished her meal within 25-30 minutes. I think Thumper wanted to burp :D
She definetly loves the new a/d food.
In 2 meals, she has eaten 1/2 the can (5.5oz size can). It's the size of a large tuna can for those not familiar with pet can sizes. :D
HUGH accomplishment since I was struggling to get 3/4 of a 4.oz can finished everyday.

THUMPER! You go, girl! :D
Even better her last meal of the day at 10:30 p.m.
She ate 1/4 portion.
So in 3 meals today she ate all but 1/4 of the can.
I dont feed her 4x a day so there will probably always be one portion left to carry over to next day.
At some point I will take that 4th meal portion and divide it up into the 3 meal times, that way she will be eating a whole 5.5 oz can in a day.
I am amazed at her :)
I'm sure our vet will be to when I talk to them tomorrow. I only bought 2 cans (if she didnt like, I didnt have a whole case), guess I will be making a trip up there for a case :)

Blood work results....
Everything looks good but the white count is elevated.
Thus maybe indicating infection. So he is putting her own antibotic.
Also, in the future we will put her on a senior food diet.
He feels since she is 9 years old that it's time for senior food, thus the weight loss. We are keeping her on the a/d food for a while and monitoring her weight.
Ok, mom can breath now :)

Even though I haven't posted much, I have been reading about dear Thumper.
I'm soooooo glad to hear that she likes the new food and is starting to eat and that her blood tests came out well. I pray that she continues to eat well and that she will start to feel better real soon with the antibiotics.
Give that sweet and brave girl of yours a hug and kiss for me and {{{{{{HUGS}}}}} to you for being such a fabulous meowmie.
