Even though there are some dogs I like more then others I can not say that I have seen an ugly dog, mutt or purebred. I think if you are a real dog lover then to you there are no such thing as an ugly dog.

I agree, although I have seen some mutts that were so ugly they were cute. Some people look at my pug and say, "oh...um....that's an...um...interestsing looking dog" (with a slight look of disgust) I know that it's a nice way of saying, "good lord is that dog ugly!!!" I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. :)

My husband loves dogs, but he is not fond of the way smashed face dogs look, so he does not see how I could think Cassie is cute. He loves her, and he loves her personality, but he just does not like the look of the smashed face dogs...and he's a dog lover.

Some people who don't like the looks of your dog should really just not comment if it is a rude comment. They should just nod and walk away.

I love all dogs, big, small, beautiful, ugly (as in the eye of the beholder) Our Daisy was so scrawny when she was little, and her bottom teeth stick out, her ears look bigger than her head, some would laugh and say look she is smiling at us. To me she is the most beautiful dog in the world I wouldn't change a thing about her. :)

I don't think any dog is "ugly" but I will admit there are one or two breeds that I don't care for. I won't say wich ones because I don't want to start a fight but I do think that people are entitled to dislike a breed.

We use to have a poodle terrier mix.
I thought she was adorable.
My mother-in-law on the other hand
thought our dog was to funny looking and
would say she was ugly.
Needless to say I did not appreciate

Oh, KYS!!! How precious! What a beautiful tribute. What was her/his name? I don't think ANY dog is ugly!! Dogs that others may consider ugly, I find the cutest! One look into the eyes of any dog and I am in love. They all have the most beautiful souls, and that's what shines through for me!

KYS, that is an adorable picture! I really don't think any dog is ugly. But, there are some breeds that I personally don't think are pretty. But I won't say which breeds they are! Good idea for a topic!

To me,all dogs are cute or pretty in one way or another,however there are some I do not care for,they all have something about them.I often hear the comment on my pugs that they are so ugly they are cute.Of course I just think they are plain cute.Guess like a lot of things it is in the eye of the beholder.I have not seen a pic on here yet that I did not think was either cute dog or a pretty dog,and of course they all look very lovable....Sandy

I have never seen an ugly dog in my life. I love them all. People keep telling me Lolly looks like a jackel from the Lion King. I think she's beautiful. Here's a pic of the little poodle/fox terrier mutt girl who I LOVE:

Lolly looks like a border terrior to me...could she be part border terrier? Or is she part fox terrier. She looks almost exactlly like a border terrier to me. She's really, really cute by the way!

Her mom is a poodle and her dad is a wirehair fox terrier. I can't really see the poodle in her. I think she's cute too! Thats why I keep slapping pictures of her everywhere, hehe :)

back than with my mother-in-law. lol
We called her Scruf, because she looked
a bit on the scruffy side and had
missing teeth.
We adopted her from the pound when she
was a senior citizen. (the vet thought she was approx. 13 yrs. old)
We were blessed with her for 5 short yrs.

I think all these dogs are sooooo cute.

Sandy my grandma use to have the cutest little pug. But alot of people said she was ugly, they use to say to my grandma "shes got a face only a mother could love" :D my grandma would just laugh and say yep and this mother sure does love her.

The poodle/terrier mix is adorable and so is Daisy! My neighbour showed up with a grey dog. I think it's part poodle or something. All of it's hair was shaved except for her face. My husband took one look at the dog and said "What the heck is that?" I thought the dog was adorable. So ugly that it's cute!

You are stilol a dog lover if you dont prefer a breed or do not like the looks of it.. dog lovers can have theirs own opinions and you still are one if you dont really like a breed... I love all dogs but i do not prefer some. For example the Chinese Hairless dog disgusts me! I would never want that breed but if one was in need id try my hardest to help it. Not likeing a brred or the way it looks does not make you and less of a dog lover.

Jackie, you have one beautiful little flower there in Daisy! :) And KYS, I can't believe you said "Scruf!" I just can't resist a "scruffy" pup! The scruffier the better!! We have one boarding at the kennel now. She has such a scruffie doo, we can make little hair spikes on top of her head. She is sooooo adorable!! Border Terriers are one the cutest of the "scruffie" variety! :D And Aly, you are KILLING me with those pictures of Lolly!!! Now there's a dog with a face that could melt ice! She and Reece together are almost painfully cute :) Hint...Hint.... :D

I hate that people think that puppies are cuter then dogs. Once I was walking my dog home from the vet on a wednesday, (she had a haircut on monday.) Anyway so she was all brushed and washed and looking adorable, and there was a lady on some outside stairs. As we walked by she said 'ahhh, is that a puppy?' she was so happy and smiling like there was no tomorrow. I calmly and proudly said 'no, she is full grown.' Then she had the nerve to say 'ohhh.' Then she gave my dog the dirtest look I have ever seen. I hope I never see her again!!!
