Hello everyone,

We are asking for your help with a problem that I have not seen addressed - but this is starting to really worry us.
Daisy's paws are really dry and now it looks like the large pads are splitting! Can any of you recommend a course of action?
Thank you so much.
Love Daisy and her mom

Go to your local pet supply store and ask for crack creme. If they don't have it you can order it from Foster and Smith online.

Try vaseline and socks or bag balm you can get at any drug store.

Can you describe more in detail as to the type of crack. Some dogs pads do this normally. As long as they don't actually tear into the tender flesh of the foot or if she is not showing any discomfort.

If they are tearing and starting to seep or bleed, you need to get her into the vet. Pads are tough skin and require suturing to heal properly. They do not heal properly on their own, and are highly susceptagble to infection.

Sadie get really dry pads on her feet also. We got some creme (like Candy suggested) and also the vet put her on a vitamin supplement and allergy medicine. Part of the reason hers get so dry is licking becuase of allergies so we give her Benydryl. I wopuld try the creme first and if that doesn't help, ask your vet about the other.
