My in-laws got a Yorkie not to long ago. A couple owned him they are getting a divorce , neither one of them wanted the little guy.

My in- laws were told Marshall was house broken, that turned out to be untrue. They are having an awful time getting the little guy to go potty outside. He runs back in the house and uses the bathroom. He doesn't seem to understand that he should use the bathroom outside. My poor in-laws are at their wits end on what to do. I told them I would post here on PT and see if any of you might know what they could do. They will greatly appreciate any advise any of you might have. He has been to the vet for a total health check. Marshall is 8 months old.

Poor little dude. :( How long have they had him? He's really still a pup
at 8mos, so I would approach housetraining him just the same way I would
for any brand new puppy in the house. Back to square one with him. He's
probably still confused over being moved from his former home.

Hmmm.... did they say housebroken or potty trained? I ask because if he's confused as to what to do outside he could very well have been litter trained!!

Also, he's experienceing a major upheaval. Be patient with him the first few weeks and maybe he'll relax and fall back into being trained.
