Hi, I'm Allen, new to the forum. I took in a cat about a month ago and I'm enjoying the company of my new friend. I'm trying to figure out his breed and I'd like to post a few pics and get some feedback. However, I'm unable to post attachments(you may not post attachments shows on the posting rules). Does anyone know how I can post pics on the forum under my log in name? Any help would be appreciated.

Now that you have been approved as a member, you can post attachments, or see this old thread (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?t=7406) for how to post not as an attachment.

Thanks, Karen. I think my cat is what they call a tabby hair, am I right?

You have a beautiful tabby! Quite gorgeous; and also spoiled, it appears.

Your boy is gorgeous. He looks to be a DSH (domestic short hair) with his pattern being ticked tabby with classic tabby markings on the legs and head. Simply gorgeous. I am looking forward to seeing more pictures.
P.S. Welcome to PT. You will love it here. BTW: My name is Michelle and you can see the queen of the castle in my siggy. I am also owned by several others. Phoenix, Bella, Frost, Vega & Artica da dawg. And am fostering 3 - 5 week old babies.

Thanks everyone for the compliments(and Michelle for your warm welcome). I did some looking around and found that 'tabby' is not actually a specific breed, rather a color pattern- most often stripes and whorls. People just call them tabby because the pattern is so popular. I think my cat shares some characteristics with breeds like the Egyptian Mau(the original spotted tabby), and Tabby American shorthair, which all have very similar facial/body structure. Can someone help me correctly identify his breed?
Here are some more pics if that will help. btw, my cat's name is karma, I gave him that name because he found me :)
One more question: I tried to upload a pic of karma for my profile but can't. The size limit is 97.7KB, my pic is 40.0KB, so I'm not sure what's the problem. I got the auto message that it's larger than 100x100 pixels.
Thanks everybody.

Welcome to PT, engsohere! Your cat is gorgeous! I love that short thick fur, and the color too. :)
The picture most members have in the left side by their user name, is called an avatar. That has a limit of 60x60 pixels. If you can make it that size, it'll be accepted. If you can't, you're welcome to post the picture you want as an avatar and I'll resize for you. Or if it's one of the above, let me know which. :)

Thanks for the advice Randi, it works! I'm so proud of myself
Happy and safe 4th to everyone and all your furry friends :)

I have a strange-looking cat. I would like to know if there is a term for cats who look like this. She is a tortie, but with a Calico face!

I've been thinking and the name karma lacks imagination. Since I'm from Texas I will name my boy, drum roll please...bodacious bubba! And the theme song for bubba is Mary Chapin Carpenter's "shut up and kiss me". :p
Happy 777 everyone :)
