We got ourselves a new BABY !!!!!

We have been looking now for a few weeks, and of course every baby we looked at, I fell in love with  but Tim had to get that 'special' one, and today we finally found him!!

No pictures yet, but we did see the doctor late this afternoon and aside from a nasty, nasty case of earmites he got a clean bill of health.

<side note here, while at the vet's office we were all talking and one of the tech's asked me if I had ever seen any mites, um, fornicate?! Well, of course I hadn't....but I did today!! :p Ok, ok, you have to realize that everyone in that office and I are on first name basis, and they all went through Fluffy's final days with us - we even got several sympathy cards from the different girls, so needless to say we have become rather close. Well, while checking out the new babies mites, they put some under the microscope, and low and behold guess what they saw! so of course I just had to look!!!!>

We still don't have a name for the little guy, but he is 12 weeks old, black & white tuxedo Maine Coon, with bright green eyes! And he is already a daddy's boy <what we wanted!> He is really close to looking like Lucky, only smaller! When he gets bigger and the 2 run past us it will be hard to tell who's who.

He won't get to meet his new brother's for about 3 weeks, but Lucky & Yoshi know there is something 'new' in the spare room ;)

We haven't gotten any pictures of him yet - we have only had him a few hours, but I'm sure tomorrow we will get a bunch, and of course I will introduce him to his new PT family!

We are SOOOOO excited and I just couldn't wait to tell everyone !!!!! :D

I am so glad you finally found Mr. Special Daddy's boy! I am sure he will have the big gentle spirit of his brother Fluffy when he's grown up- but not now- now he'll be a kitten!!!! :D

Yippeeee!!!! I knew it! As soon as I saw the title of your thread I knew you had a knew baby in the family! Can't wait to see pictures of him. :D

Funny how the right one knows exactly what his/her "job" is supposed to be. Your new baby's job was to be a daddy's boy, and he's doing it. Our new baby's job (Robin) was to be a daddy's girl, and she excels at it! And while we're on it, CJ's job was to be a momma's boy and he excels at that too. :D

Congratulations all around!

And don't forget....pictures, pictures, pictures!!! ;)

Well, things are going.....well. Except this morning we woke up to a corner of his room filled with litter and poop!

Seems the little guy got a toy in the litter box after he pooped, and well we all can imagine what it looked like

But daddy cleaned it and him up without any problems! (wow this was really a surprise for me!!)

We got a few pictures yesterday, but he was playing and our digital camera isn't quite as fast as he is, so we got a lot of backs, butts and the floor  we are still working on a face picture!!!

Still no name comes to mind, but we do have a few we are tossing around:
Taz (yes he can be a little devil!)
Hummer (purrs from the moment you pick him up )
Izzy - no reason
Fonzie - no reason
Haru - (Japanese for "born in spring" he was born 4/10/07)
Keiko - Japanese for "adored one")
Tooki - (Japanese for Pottery - since that's what mommy does! :p )

That's it for now!! Gotta go get my mid-morning hugs in........... :D

CUTE!!!

As for names....it's not a fancy one, but could you do something creative with "Boots"?

Your baby's colouring reminds me of Phred's late Boots da Kat, although your little fella has long fur.

Just a thought...hmmm....what the heck is Japanese for "boot"? :)

Ok I was looking up Japanese terms and I got very confused over looking for the term "TUXEDO" in Japanese.
So I went with -
cat-shiro kuro
then I was thinking about
Maine Coon -
so I looked up
raccoon-tanuki gao
or Genji is a Japanese Old Clan name.....

Someone suggested Ranger b/c of his mask-
along those lines-
what about
ZORRO?! :D

Well, we have decided on a name, so please welcome little TAZ as in Tasmainain Devil http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/rolleyes.gif to PT!!

This name seems to fit him more than anything else in the world! Most of the time he is just this cute, purring machine, but try to look into his ears or give him medicine, watch out!! http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/eek.gif he turns into this mean skreetching little devil, http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/eek.gif but once it is done and over with, back to the purring machine http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/biggrin.gif

So.....please welcome our little Taz http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/biggrin.gif http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid225/pc97723b3b27ff461e0e825775492a610/e8c56b59.jpg

Oh I LOVE Taz!!!!! What a cutie he is- no wonder Tim fell for him. What do Yoshi and Lucky say?

Yoshi & Lucky only get to see Taz on supervised visits, Taz is being treated to a nasty case of earmites (**) and is in quarentine for 3 - long - weeks.

But the few times they did meet, Yoshi actually liked the little one! whereas Lucky hissed at him  , and here we thought it would be the oppisite way around. I think Yoshi will like his new playmate - I have a feeling they will both get into a lot of - trouble together! :D

** As a side note, I did turn in the lady we bought Taz from. Both my in-laws and friends thought it was the right thing to do, but my husband said not to worry about it - men - But I turned them in to Sherrif Joe's possie and they will do a "welfare check" on the house, then they will let me know! (but they will not let her know who turned her in - whew!) I know I saved Taz, now hopefully the other kitties there will be saved, too.

Welcome to PT, Taz! My but you sure are quite an accomplished heart thief already. You couldn't possibly have chosen a better furever family, they will love you beyond measure, care for you, and see that you get all the things necessary to keep you healthy and happy. Yuck, ear mites are no fun. Groucho had them when he was a baby and our vet finally gave him a shot to make them go away, it worked and Groucho hasn't had a problem since. Sending you lots of welcome scritchies and tummy rubs! Can't wait to see more pictures of your cute little self.....

What was up with the house where you got Taz? I reread through from the beginning and couldn't find anything about it being questionable, although if he was in really bad shape, I'm sure it was! Poor little guy! How many others were there?? Do you think they find places for them, or will they take them to the "inhumane" society where they'll be put down. Not sure how your state/city works. Were there kids in the house yet too?? How bad was the place??

Sorry Jenn, we were out on a short vacation over the weekend!

Taz, we think came from a kitty mill - so to speak. When we called to see about the ad in the paper, the lady told us she had 'several' adoptable kittens. When we arrived at her house, she and her daughter met us outside with kittens in hand. It was 110 degrees outside and we were all standing outside in her driveway because we were not allowed inside the house. When I asked if he had papers, she said 'no, but I can get you some if you want" - red flag #2. I asked to see the parents, another excuse. She then brought out a box of kittens still being weaned from 'a' mother, and the daughter came out with a shoe box of just born kittens....all very adorable, but suspicious too.

When we took him to the vet later that day his poor little ears were just infested with earmites, he has been quarintined from Lucky & Yoshi for 2 weeks now  with another week to go.

We have an animal abuse line that our Sheriff's office is with, I emailed them explaining that I had no real evidence, just gut feelings. They said no problem, but they did have a back log so it may take a while before they could do a 'welfare' check on this woman.

I just want her to stop selling kittens, and can you imagine the poor mother cats??? pregnancy after prengancy? Ugh! I can only imagine what the inside of her house must look like.......

I believe the 'Animal Cops" are part of the Humiane Society, whereas the person I reported it to was Sherrif Joe Arpiao- dubbed the 'toughest Sheriff in the West".

The HS will just take the animals away and maybe start a lawsuit, Sheriff Joe will take the animals away along with the owners! He doesn't mess around! There is a part of his jail system that the inmates take care of the animals, and to me that alone will teach someone unconditional love, and that is worth it!

Either way I hope she gets what is coming to her....Taz was a mess when we got him 2 weeks ago, now today he is 1 full pound heavier!!

I got myself a little piggie......:p
