Subject: PLEASE PLEASE can you help us with a rescue??
Hi
PLEASE read this email, PLEASE. My name is Cheryl Jones-Workman. My
husband. Adam and I live in Bolivar, Ohio. Last week we found two of
the most NICEST, SWEETEST mixed breed dogs running along the side of one
of the country roads down here. They were, wet, filthy, covered with
fleas and ticks and one was extremely emaciated. We took them from farm
to farm asking if anyone knew who they belonged to. We got to one farm
who informed us that the dogs just showed up around two weeks ago,
starving. We took them home, bathed and fed them and contacted a
rescuer that we knew of who tried to bring us in contact with someone
who would rescue these babies to no avail. In the process of looking
for a rescue group to take them, my husband and I took the dogs to our
regular vet to treat them for the fleas and ticks since they would be in
our kennel and home. The vet has determined they are a mix of cockapoo
and something else. The one weighs 33 pounds, the emaciated one weighs
22 and they are both approximately 3 years of age. The emaciated dog is
heartworm positive and lime disease negative, the larger dog is negative
all the way across. Our vet gave them a free dose of Frontline and gave
the larger dog a free dose of interceptor also. He did not treat the
smaller dog for heartworm because of its positive status. Because we
found out that the one dog is heartworm positive, the rescue that we
were talking with now will not take them. They said that they can't
take a dog that they know is heartworm positive. We are in desperate
need of finding a group that will take these babies before the
heartworms destroy the sweetest one of the pair. My husband and i can
not keep them, we already have 5 dogs at our home now and we are in
violation of township dog codes if we keep the other two and the little
one is in real need of medical attention for the heartworm. Would you
PLEASE PLEASEconsider helping them? PLEASE we are desperate. If you
can't take them, do you know of anyone who could???? PLEASE help us
find these two a home and some help. Thank you for listening. Please
respond soon.
Sincerely
Adam and Cheryl Workman
