I took Winkie back to the vet. The scabs and scratching are back with a vengence along with loss of hair.
If it weren't for one sharp vet tech, they would've given him a shot for scratching and put him on more Baytril.
The vet tech took a skin scraping, which SHOULD'VE been done the first time around. Turns out to be sarcopic mange, a parasite that can't be seen by the naked eye. They had to call another rodent expert to figure out how to treat it.
Thank GOD for Cass (Luckies4me) for telling me about Ivermectin. They mentioned it and I said absolutely not. Turns out it's fatal to rats (which I knew from Cass).
So I had to go out and get all new bedding (I just used the last of it). I felt so bad for him, I went out and got boneless spareribs for dinner and gave him some. He's now sleeping.
Anybody else have experience with sarcopic mange??
