My 3 1/2 month old kitten, Maggie has started nursing my nephews stuffed bear! Is it possible that she was taken from her mother too soon (I got her at 2 months, and I don't think that's too soon) or is this just something that some kittens do. When she was a tiny baby her mother disappeared and she had to be raised by another cat who had kittens. Could this be part of the problem? Is it something I should worry about or something she will grow out of?

My female, Squeak, did this on my neck under my hair at night. This went on for a year. We found her at about four weeks old, and she did it from day one. She did eventually stop though. I don't know about why they do it, I've read that they're content when this happens. I had a neutered male that would mate with a green blanket. He would do this up to six times a day until he got sick and died in March.

I heard that if they are too young when they are taken away from their mom they do that. My 4 year old cat still does that. She was abandoned in a barn with her brother when she was 3 weeks old. Her brother ran away after he grew up. Sorry I got off topic!

Go to You Tube in the pets section there is a sweetiest video of Edwidge (baby kitten) doing the same thing. I have it saved on my home computer but not on my laptop or I would post the link for you. It is adoreable!!!
