Hello: My cat is 13 yrs in old & in great shape except that the vet said her teeth really need a professional cleaning. I am concerned about the general anesthesia for a cat her age, but also about possible infections. My husband thinks we should get them cleaned while others see it as unecessary. I am nervous to do it because of her age. Any thoughts?

My cat had a good cleaning recently with no complications, but he's only 6. Can you get a few vets opinions? Perhaps a smaller dose!

Good luck! :)

Having a cat's teeth cleaned is very important because if they are in bad shape then it can cause other diseases. Usually the vet will do some blood work so they know more about the cat's system. Since your cat is older maybe you should get a second opinion. I had my cat Storm's teeth cleaned but he's only 6 years old. Good luck. :)
