A month ago yesterday my beautiful boy Malakai turned a month old. I cannot believe the time went by so quickly. This past month has been one full of happiness, sleep deprivation, challenges, and sore nipples. :p But I have loved every minute of it!
So I thought I would finally share my birth story and a couple of photos with you all. This is how my lovely boy came into the world...
Saturday I went shopping with Dylan, grammy and Kai's daddy. We were shopping for an outfit to bring our baby home in when I started having contractions. I lost my plug about three days before. I knew these were different than all the rest as they did not let up. They were coming about every 10 minutes and they were very strong. I was walking hunched over in the store lol, but I managed to pick out an outfit and we finally headed home. That was about 4:30. I got home and they just were not letting up. I decided to take a nap and lay down to see how I felt. I slept all but 15 or so minutes and then figured I should start timing my contractions. If I was in labor I wanted to labor at home for a bit before going to the hospital. Luckily that day I had packed my hospital bag lol. :p
At about 6:30 or so I asked Dan to come get Dylan because I knew I was going to go to the hospital. Dan picked Dylan up and I took a shower. Eddy got here around 7 or so I think and we headed to the hospital. Tonight was the night and I could feel it! I really wasn't joking this time! lol. Poor Eddy probably thought I was just pulling his chain again. haha. So we got to the hospital and I was monitored. I wasn't dilated but 1 and a half cent. but my contractions were very strong and very regular. At 1:30 am Sunday I was sent home, very dissapointed! I knew I was in labor. I think all the nurses thought I was nuts. Well I sure proved them wrong when at 3:30 am my water broke, on the couch mind you. Thank goodness I was sleeping on top of a very thick down comforter. Otherwise I would have tossed my couch out.
I didn't have my water break with Dylan naturally. They broke it in the hospital so I had no idea what it was like. There was so much. It was literally like a faucet and it wouldn't stop. I didn't know what to do besides laugh and say "Oh my god" over and over. I used all the towels and blankets in the house. So embarassing. :o I was in shock because there was no turning back now. I was going to have a baby that night and there was nothing I could do about it lol.
