This is from another member - shawsdanes - Trinity's breeder just contacted me this morning. A sister of Trinitys is up for adoption. The family's landlord passed away and now they live in a small apartment and unable to keep her. She was born Nov 2005, spayed, house trained, crate trained, up to date on shots, and attends doggy daycamp (so very good with other dogs). She is blue in color.

The kicker is she is in Virginia, but I feel if we found a home, we could get something figured out on how to get her up here, its only about 9 to 10 hrs from here.

What part of VA? If she's close to TN maybe I could find someone here that would take her.

I will call Patty in MN to see if she will take her and I will set up transport if it is still needed.

I just talked to Patty and she said as along as she is ok with other dogs and not aggressive she will take her into her rescue. She is awesome...I promise. She is a great rescue. I think we may have to find someone to keep her for a week about 1/2 way because I don't think I can get her from VA to MN in 2 days on transport. Let me know if you need my help.

Where in VA is she? If it's Northern VA perhaps I could help with transport part way to Ohio.

No I haven't - hopefully good things are happening for the dog.
I know Heidi is really busy @ her job during this time of year. :) And with Trinity's health - she must have a lot of her plate. :)

Sorry guys I haven't been on allot lately, its so busy at work and I was teaching bible school all last week. Those 70 hr weeks will knock ya down quick.

Anyhow, I have contacted Trinitys breeder and told her everything that has been talked about. The home would have to be approved by Trinitys breeder and a contract signed, as she wants to know at all times that her pups are in a good home and no neglect.

Trinitys breeder (Lisa Downey) is located in Manquin, VA. I will try my hardest to give you all an update asap. Thanks for all your help.

She is GORGEOUS!!! Seriously, is she good with cats?! I've been looking for a big dog, and wanted to adopt over the summer while I'm home from work (teacher). I've been looking at Danes, Rotties, Mastiffs etc... I love alone with my cats, and besides loving big breeds, I feel safer having a larger dog with me rather than a small dog. I live in an urban area, but have tons of parks and my parents own a 100acre farm, which is 30-40 mins. away.

If she's still available, how would I go about getting interviewed and stuff??

Good news for Maddie... (even if I can't have her)

You sound like a perfect home, Unfortunately we found someone for Maddie, I hadn't been able to catch up with Heidi to update her. The owners of Maddie really wanted to keep her, but their situation didn't allow it, we were lucky enough to find someone near them that was interested in doing a long term 10 month foster until they got their house. It worked out well for both of them as the foster home had a dane that really needed another playmate to work on his socialization. And for the owners because they really didn't want to give her up. As a retired breeder and a contract that states that all rehoming, needs to be done through me, it is possible that another situation could come up. I had another returned in January do to a divorce. We ended up keeping him ourselves, but with 5 danes a boxer, a shih tzu, 3 cats and 3 kids, we just wouldn't be able to take in another, hence why we were looking for a placement for Maddie. Would it be ok if I kept your name on File and let you know if something else came up? If you have found something by then it would be ok, but you just sound perfect, that would be a great match for a dane. Sorry if I got your hopes up, Thanks so much for your love for animals that you would consider taking in Maddie. Keep in Touch.

well I'm glad to hear that!
But the good news is that she has your name on file AND you think you are ready for a dog!! Don't give up - one will turn up and you will be so happy with it. As a dog and cat mom myself I can't imagine not having both now. :D
Good Luck Jennie and YEEAAA for MADDIE!!
