Every year I have to get Boscoe trimmed. He is so hairy, he sheds and coughs up huge gross hairballs. This year I took him to my local vet who has a pet groomer on staff. She butched him, he looks awful. No thought was given to style or safety. She just took a razor and went to town. In some places he was shaved so close I fear nicks. She didn't even trim his face, just stopped at the neck line all crooked and horrid. I will never ever go there again. This is his before photo.http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r286/Marigold2/Boscoeshaircut001.jpg

Next year I am going back to Petsmart, they are a bit pricey but do a wonderful job.

Oh no, poor Boscoe! :( I bet you didnt like that trim lady at all did you? I know I wouldn't, she sounds like she didn't even care at all.

Don't worry Boscoe, your fur will grow back very quickly and then you will look just as stunning as you always do:):D

He doesn't look that bad. He could have been getting mad especially in certain spots. I think she'd rather risk not cutting the cat and getting bit then making sure it's nice and even. Also on cats you can't really get the fur even because their fur is so soft.

I don't recomend going to Pet Smart's grooming though especially for cats. They use restrainers on cats which freak the cats out even more a usually a cat muzzle (which covers their whole face). Of course yours could be different.
Someone who comes into my shop said she was watching grooming at Pet Smart being done on a cat and it was strung up on the restrainer and only it's 2 back paws were on the ground.

I dont think they did such a bad job, You have to remember how easy it is to nick a cats skin with a clipper! Its not as easy as it sounds believe me! ;)

I'm sure she did as good as she could do, its very hard to get a cats hair even when clipping it and with the blade she used it looks like shes done quite a good job. Why not tell her you want more style next time? I wouldn't dismiss the vet groomer, next time tell her exactly what you want. We all make mistakes and misunderstandings so maybe she didn't understand what you wanted?

Or you could just keep him brushed out and not have to shave him at all.
I wouldn't go saying how bad of a job it is until you have tried to do a cat yourself and realize how hard it is to do. Most usually hate their legs/feet being done too which is why they aren't blended.

This lady gave Boscoe a (Lion Cut) which is not what I told her. I told her a medium trim. Boscoe has gone to two other stylists and he looked great. If she works for a vet and calls herself a groomer she should be able to trim a cat without almost nicking his skin. That's why they go to school and get training. I will not be going there again. Petsmart really did the best job. They treated Boscoe wonderful and he looked so nice when done.
