I was wondering if it is poosible to treat Bella for worms while she is still nursing? The babies will be 14 days old tomorrow. We just discovered she has tapeworm. We have panacur here to treat her but not sure if we can. Going to ask the vet but don't completely trust them as when we asked about what food to give her they said 'ah whatever she is eating is fine.' So asking those of you that I trust.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
Michelle

What I did find out about this - it is safe for use during pregnancy; needs to be given for 2 - 3 days.

I was trying to find out if it is safe for nursing moms, but can find no info about that. Maybe someone else?

From Dr. Foster and Smith website - panacur (http://a1272.g.akamai.net/7/1272/1121/20050919193238/www.drsfostersmith.com/Rx_Info_Sheets/rx_fenbendazole.pdf)

I just called my vet and asked. They said it's safe for pregnant cats, so they assume it would be safe for a nursing mom. You don't have to take my word for it, but I really like my vets office. :)
Good luck!
