Anybody interested in the article I mentioned yesterday can look at:
www.parade.com
Date: 7/14/02
Title: "The difference between sickness and evil."
Although the writer deals mainly with child abuse, it also applies to the horrible people who maltreat animals.

Albea ~ Is this the current article, or is this a link to a previous article he wrote? >>
from the Parade link... (http://local.parade.com/0714/082894_archive.html)
If not the current article; here's another link to the Author's web page:
The Difference Between "Sick" and "Evil"
What We Must Do ... To Protect Our Children
A CALL TO ACTION BY ANDREW VACHSS
Andrew Vachss has written the cover feature for the July 14 issue of Parade magazine. It's an essay about the difference between "sick" and "evil," about the conduct of so-called "pedophile priests," how they're just part of a larger problem ... and what we can do about that problem.
Read the article on July 14th. Parade magazine comes free in most Sunday newspapers. You will also be able to read the article — and forward a copy to all your friends — from right here on The Zero, starting July 21st.

Albea & Phred,
Thanks so very much for the links. I expected one article,
and ended up with a library. Thank you both very much
for the information. Andrew Vachss 's name did ring a bell
with me as I had seen him speak once before. He is a very
powerful advocate for children and animals. Liz.

Phred:
Thank you for posting that direct link. I only posted the one for the general Parade magazine page not because I'm lazy but because I still don't know how to do a link. (This is not a hint for you to send me detailed instructions;))
Greetings and hugs to Cinder and Smokey.
