Northern CA Meeting *Reminder: July 14 meet!*

Now that it's summer and the weather is nice and bright, I think it's time for another Nor Cal PT meeting! I think it's been two years since our last one (:eek: ) so we're long overdue!

It seems we're a bit spread out so everybody can help decide on a location. Cindy and I went to Pt. Isabel the other day and I think it would be a *greyt* meeting place. However, if you guys are willing to drive, Fort Funston in SF is so much fun. These two areas are the biggest and the most fun, IMO, but if you know of any other parks, please share!

I'm in. I have no idea of any dog parks, except Pt Isabel. But I'd be willing to drive a little for a meeting. :D :D

I'd vote for Pt Isabel since I have an irrational aversion to going to SF if I can avoid it. :)

LOL, yeah, we got lost on our second visit to Fort Funston. It was also raining that day, but when it's sunny, that beach is so much fun.

Oh, I love SF just for the fact of Union Square, but Ft. Funston is a long ways drive for anybody on the other side of the bay. I don't think I'll have time to go until mid-summer, actually.

Now, we just need to set a date! I'm free on the weekends and can do Saturday/Sunday afternoons :)

I'm sorry. I didn't mean for anyone to take that the wrong way. It's not the city itself that I have the problem with. It's the drive, especially with the freeway problems right now (the tanker explosion). Honestly, I've only actually been into the city like twice in the almost four years I've lived here in Concord. It's all the one way streets and such (just like Sacramento) that I have a problem with. And since I would probably be coming by myself, that's stressful to me. :o :eek:
Our summers can get pretty busy with boating and things. But if we can come up with a date, I'll mark it on my calendar. And I think my friend wants to come too and bring her Boxer, Tessa. :D

If we're going to do a weekend, I vote we do it in July, because I'll be working weekends until then. :) I vote for the 29th, it's my birthday. ^_^

Come to think of it, I can do any day anytime from June 4 - June 18, but I'm not sure if that would clash with any of your guys' plans. Is anybody free then?

Yeah, this month is pretty well booked. As long as I know far enough in advance, I will know if I am free. At this point we have no "set" plans. Bruce is pretty spontaneous sometimes. :rolleyes:
And July 29th works for me (unless we end up having to move our offices that weekend, which I hope NOT!!)

Cindy, what time do you get off from work? If you get out early enough, June 15 sounds like it'd work. Since I live in fairly close proximity of Pt. Isabel, I'm okay with a late-afternoon meeting. Inputs? Thoughts everybody?

Ugh, I don't get out of work until 4:30 and it'd probably take me a half hour to an hour, depending on traffic. How late is the park open? Oh wait!! It'd be longer than that, because I'd have to go home and get Zoee. LOL So by the time I went home (usually arrive home around 5:30) and back out to Richmond it would probably be closer to 7pm. :(
Unless................I ask to get off work early that day. Hmmmmmmmmm. Let me think about this one. :) That might be a good possibility, as long as there are a bunch of us going, I'd be willing to do that. :D

Aww, Cindy =/ Well, if Friday works for most of us, then I can tentatively set the date for Friday June 15, around 1:00 pm to whenever. So Cindy, you won't have to leave work extremely early that way.

Well, I think you all said July 29th would work, right? If we wait awhile, we can have all the Nor Cal PT-ers in one place. I think that'd be better than a few scattered meetings. I know it'd be a lot more fun, too. That'd give a lot of time for all of us to plan around it as well.

So July 29th everyone? We can celebrate Cathy's birthday too ;)

Well ok, Kater (with Kirk the BC) from Hawaii, will be in Norcal from Fri June 15 evening until I believe Monday morning. In between that time, I'm definitely taking her to the Berkeley Marina where I always take my dogs. I remember we've had a few meetings there before.. if any of you would like to join us, lemme know - that'd be great,.. otherwise, I hope you guys are able to get a norcal meeting together sometime, and I hope you all have a great summer!! :D

ahh - crayola's ol'disneyland (fort funston park) isn't in or even near SF!! it's right off the coast.. you can avoid SF in many ways. very beautiful area, can be too windy often.

but I'd love to try a new park. :) I'll be in california by mid or end of june.. and probably leave by mid of july so june 15 or july 29th won't work for me.. :( you gotta have this work for me too, I missed the last gathering!! :o :D

how about saturday, july 14th, everybody? easier and works for cathy - we can celebrate a bit early! ;)

If I'm not mistaken there are two dates set right now.
June 16th at Berkeley Marina/Cesar Chavez, and July 14th at Pt Isabel in Richmond.

Saturday the 16th is fine, however I'm not sure on the time. My boss unfortunately scheduled me to work until 615pm, even though I asked a month in advance to take the day off. :( BUT I've been trying to switch with my co-worker, so if she agrees, I'd get off work at 230pm. I'll keep you guys updated on the time.. UGHHHHHH I like my job but sometimes it drives me crazy :mad: :(

sooo would late afternoon/early evening work for whoever's planning to make it on the 16th? the sunsets are gorgeous at the park on a good day, you can see the golden gate bridge and the city :D lol

ugh. i am sooo sorry i didn't make it. i left around 2pm and it was only supposed to be a 55 minute drive from los altos, but i got lost by oakland and i ended up driving around trying to get back to the freeway. I eventually found 7th street but thats as close as i got to the park and it was almost 4pm at that point so i just screamed with joy when i found the freeway and drove home. I'm really disappointed i didn't get to meet your lovely dogs :(

I'm sorry you didn't make it ratdogg81. I also got lost a little on my way there, but I left my house at 1pm. When I got there Sophie was there with Giselle and Ivy. Unfortunately she had to leave and passed BCBlondie on her way out. So Zoee and I hung out with her and her three pups, Miko, Maija and Megan along with Kater!! We were actually there until 5:30! :eek: Zoee and I are both pooped. But it was a lot of fun. :D
Of course I forgot my camera but Sophie took a few pictures and Di took a TON. Hopefully they can post them soon so I can see how they came out. :) (no pressure, lol)

Those pictures are awesome!! I guess I would like some in their regular size. I copied one and it was a little small. I love the close up one of Zoee and her eyes. :D

And that was hilarious when Miko "claimed" Zoee. I really wish we had that on video. Although, I'm sure the owner of that Vizsla didn't think it was too funny. Oh well, she just didn't understand. :)
