Started sleeping for long periods of time. Cat is 12 1/2 years old.

Visit to the vet ......
A shot & medication to administer for one week. Doctor seemed to think
a infection was present.

Slept constantly while on meds. Finally able to eat and drink very little
but sleeping most of the day and is still very weak.

I have NEVER had this experience with any cat over the many years
that I have had cats for companions.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I think your kitty needs a bit more testing...did you go to your regular vet?

Some blood work might show something more. I suggest going back to the vet...if he just wants to push some more pills, then I'd find someone else.

If you post what general area you are in, someone here might know a really good clinic nearby.

I did visit my regular vet.

I've been going over my last visit and I remember the doctor saying
my little darlin had a cyst under her chin. However he did NOT further
examine this area.
My thinking NOW is why wasn't this so called cyst examined in more detail?

We DO have several wild animals in our back yard and the cats are allowed to
roam a little under strict supervision.

I'm NOW thinking of a possible deer tick or some other type of tick in this
area the doctor called a cyst. In my careful examination (after removing all of her fur in that area} I discovered some swelling and it looks like an infected sore
About the size of the top of a thumb tack.

I guess that I'll have to find myself another Vet. *sigh*

Take your wittle darling to another vet and hopeful this one will examine the swollen area more.

If you can post what area of the country you live in, maybe someone here can recommend a good vet.

Hopefully it is just an abcess...it doesn't take much of an infection to wear a kitty down, especially when they get a little older.

Hugs and good luck to your Himmie! Please keep us updated.
