A bit of useless trivia here.....the Roman soldiers carried a sea sponge tied onto a piece of wood, and they would use that. Too bad if there was no water around to wash the sponge after....eh ????

I'm pretty much happy when we have toilet paper, and I'm thrilled when someone else actually takes the 14 seconds required to put a new roll in the holder instead of setting the new roll on top of the empty one. :rolleyes: Which way it comes off the roll is of no consequence to me at all.

I don't care. If I change the roll I put it on whatever way I happen to be holding it when I grab it out of the cupboard. My boyfriend must have it over the top though so sometimes when I'm feeling mischevious I'll put it on the "wrong way" to bug him. :D

Over. But, I finally realized how ridiculous I was being when I would switch it if it was under...so now I leave it alone, even though it bugs me. Maybe it might bug the other person if I flip it...and it's more work to take it off and flip it than to just use it the way it is. hahaha, way too much thought goes into toilet paper. ;)
