Our almost 3yr old coonhound/lab mix, rebel, has been urinating in the house probably 2-3x per day for the last 2 days, and usually in the same spot. It smells VERY BAD, i dont know if the smell means anything, but do you think i should get him to a vet, or wait a couple of days and see if he stops?

Thanks :) :)

I wouldn't be too concerned but it might be a good idea to call the vet just to see what they say.

It could be something that needs medical attention.. or it could just be a behavioral issue (I say that because dogs will go in the same area if they can still smell the scent). Try to clean it really well and see if he continues. :)

To the Vet you go. A house broken puppy that suddenly is not house broken could have the beginnings of a urinary infection.

UTI's can be very painful so I would at least call your vet & explain the situation. If it is a uti I'd get him to the vet asap. They are not usually life threatening especially if treated early (it could develope into a baldder infection, kidney infection & if left untreated kidney failure) but they do hurt like the high hevens.

Does he lift his leg?
You say it is the same spot, has anything changed (either physical or even just by smell) aruond that area lately?

All of a sudden, he has just stopped urinating in the house. He goes outside, goes quickly and easily and comes back in. Ill still watch it in case anything else happens, but as of now, all looks good! :D :D

Thanks!
