I got up this morning and went into the computer room.... I noticed Panda (one of our guinea pigs) was laying there very still.... Now this is not unusual for her but this time I just knew she was gone. I called her name and rattled the cage a little and I got no response :(
Our poor girl is gone. When Brian cam ehome to remove her from the cage and bury her there was quite a bit of fluid that came out of her mouth. We think she must have had a heart attack or a stroke... something along those lines. But by the looks of her she seemed to have passed on rather peacefully as there were no signs that she had struggled or anything and she was laying there very serene like.
She was our first pet together so we are very sad that she is gone... and now Abby is left without a playmate. We are looking around at shelters and what not for an older pig to adopt. I remember one of my guinea pigs a few years ago got very depressed after the death of her "partner" and did not come out of the depression until I got another guinea pig. I don't want Abby to be depressed and she has always had Panda as a playmate since she was a baby.
Goodbye Panda, my sweet piggy girl. We will miss you.
