What time you ask? Well it's time for the world famous Calgary exhibition and Stampede otherwise known as the time that
Calgarians can act like the country folk we really are deep down inside and get away with it. I mean it, we go full out, shirts, jeans, hats, boots, music and much yelling of the words "YAHOO" and "HOWDY" that's actually how you can tell a Calgarian from a tourist, the Calgarians by a certain age know how to properly scream those two words and make them sound authentic that and tourists are usually the only ones who ware the white hats.

I actually like the stampede though, every year I watch the parade well up until the point where I get bored out of my skull with it (the parade is tomorrow morning) I go to the chuckwagon breakfasts. Those are the best, they cook pancakes and bacon right on the back of the chucks and serve them up fresh and then you can sit in olympic plaza and watch some entertainment in rope square. My fave part of that is well the pancakes there's just something about them and the native dancers.

However I must say that my fave part of the Stampede is now and always will be the Superdogs. I'm not sure if everyone knows what the Superdogs are but they're cool, it's a group of owners and they're dogs and they put on shows for people, sometimes it's games like musical mats and barrel racing and other times it's streamlined agility courses. They've been at the Stampede almost every year that I can remember, and this year it's going to be better then it usually is because I actually know a few of the people and dogs that are going to be in the show...I actually train with them so it's just going to be a cool thing to watch my friends make fools of themselves...and yes they do make fools of themselves trust me on this one. Actually now that I think about it I think after they're done with the Stampede they're going to Klondike days in Edmonton and then the World series of dog shows or something like that in Houston...

Anyway this ramble has gone on long enough.

Will be thinking of all the fun you are having today. Have a pancake for me, but make it a small one...I'm on a diet.

I've been to the Cheyenne Frontier Days, but never the Stampede. It sounds like fun...I just don't do rodeos. Have a good time and eat some good stuff for me!!
