Hi all,

So Noba and I were at the doggie park today and a regular there was telling me his 12 year old lab was diagnosed with hip dyplasia. We were talking about the different brands of glucosamine that they have and he mentioned that Daisy was on Synovi G3, which has glucosamine, chondroitin, and MSM in it, plus the omega 3 and the ingredients in fish oil all in one. Noba takes glucosamine, MSM and fish oil all separate... having one pill instead of three would make his and my life nicer. He swears by Synovi, but I wanted to run this by the PT experts first. Has anyone heard of this, and what do you think about it?

Well, I don't know about the dog versions. I was diagnosed with arthritis in both knees in January. I am taking one pill with glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM AND JOINT FLUID all in one pill.

I think it works wonders!

Roxey was having problems with one of her back legs.
She was having a hard time getting up and limping quite a bit. She started taking it and within a few months she was getting up with no problem and no limping.

I definitely give it a thumbs up!

PS If you do decide to get it, don't get it from the vets because it costs twice as much  I always order it from Amazon (much, much cheaper!)

You are paying for the convenence of having the glucosamine, chrondroitin, and MSM in the same pill.

The amount of Omega-3s is very low (18+12 mg), and not likely to do anything per anti-inflamatory at that low a concentration. If you want any benefit from the Omega-3s you'll need to feed the dog about 6000 mg of fish oil per day, which translates to 1000 mg of EPA, and 720 mg of DHA per day. I use to give my Lymphoma lab puppy that amount for its anti-angiogenesis properties. I'd just toss the fish oil gel caps up in the air and she'd catch em-gulp down the hatch they went.
