Hello Everyone

My one cat Joey is having soft stool lately. It is brown in colour, runny and smells really bad. He is 7years old and is an indoor cat. He seem to have a good appetite but I don't know if that means anything. Never had any problem with his stool until now. I just hope he isn' sick. I have been giving him these Dairy treats for cats. It is called Dairy milk drops and it has yogurt in it. One day it was juat soft in some parts of his stool and the other time it was a runny stool. I don't know if that is causing his diarrhea.

What causes diarrhea in cats? Do you think these treats in causing it? Do you think he is allergic to them? Please let me know. I am concern. Thanks!

First of all, how many treats are you feeding Joey?Too many treats may cause the diarrhea. Like you said: Joey may be allergic to the treats or one of the ingredents. I would take him to the vet soon to see if Joey is sick.

Good luck and keep us updated!

My fluffy boy Cole was a "stinky boy" this morning. What I do is I take a sample to my vet for them to examine...then if they need to see Cole, I take him in.

Today's sample I was going to keep in the fridge at work...left it on my front hall table...so hope I get another sample tomorrow. The test will check for bacteria, so it has to be fresh/refrigerated.

Some cats can't tolerate dairy products. Has Joey just started having problems since you started the treats?

Keep us posted on your boy! :)

I couldn't find any info online about those treats you mentioned. But I'm guessing with having yogurt in them that it's possible your cat is one of many that are lactose intolerant.

Stop giving the treats and see if the stool goes back to normal in a few days, if it does there's your answer. If not then take a stool sample in to your vet and have them test it for parasites/protazoas.
